Venti gently pushed open the door, a tray of slightly burnt cookies in one hand. Peering inside, he took a few steps forwards into the mostly dark room. The only light came from the night sky and the city lights of Teyvat shining in from a slightly ajar window. A silhouette shrouded in the dark of the night sat in front of a desk beneath the window, fast asleep.
Venti tentatively approached the sleeping figure, setting down the tray on the desk. He smiled to himself, glancing at the notebook page of unfinished equations on the desk. Returning his attention to the dark-haired boy in front of him, he tucked a wisp of hair behind Xiao's ear. Tenderly coaxing him up into a standing position, Venti attempted to carry Xiao to bed (to no avail).
Just then, Xiao opened his eyes slightly.
"...What time is it?" He rubbed his eyes, yawning.
Venti looked at the clock on the bedside table. "It's nearly Midnight, you should go to bed..." He began. "Y'know what, I'll finish your homework." He took Xiao's hand in his own, their fingers entwining as Venti led him towards the bed.
"Alright..." Xiao raised no objections to this, and then got into bed, pulling his dark comforter up to his chin. Soon, tiredness overtook him and he fell asleep immediately.
Venti leaned down and gave Xiao a gentle kiss on his cheek, then turned around and walked out of the room, involuntarily smiling to himself. He scribbled a quick "I love you" note complete with chibi drawings of themselves (for some odd reason) and stuck it to Xiao's door.
Soon enough, stars twinkled in the night sky. As Xiao laid in bed, he felt like the luckiest person in the world. Of course, he was awake to experience the tender kiss, his skin still tingling from when Venti's soft lips had grazed it.
