"What do you want me to do with this information," Conrad spoke monotonously, not really wanting to admit that he is an Abnormal, even if his powers don't work on command.
"I think you'd make the right decisions on your own," Whisper smiled, finally stepping forward and bumping into Conrad, ignoring the sting in her shoulder afterwards as the man was like a brick wall. Either way she swiped her way out from him.
The two were frozen, or at least Conrad was. Jennifer stared at him like she couldn't recognize him, not even sure what she should do. She should run after Whisper who seemed to have the key and who destroyed their main servers, but she was held back by what secrets that woman knows about her.
No one is guilt free.
Whisper swiped Conrad's access card at the nearest elevator, the other soldiers who were looking for her were scattered all over this floor, a few about to approach the elevators but she was long gone by the time they got there.
No one even thought twice as a petite woman walked out at the third floor, as it was chaos on this floor for it was the data collection department that was the most affected by the destruction. Whisper swung by one of the desks, grabbing a few paperclips that no one would miss.
She made a beeline for the staircase, knowing that there is a side exit on this particular level that has a side staircase that lead to a separate garage exclusive to the office workers. Of course there is a general garage, but that is more for the public and the office building.
There was one car in particular Whisper was interested in. A modified car that one unfortunate office worker had been working on in his free time. This one had a very easily removable license plate that Whisper expertly unclipped off it's holder and chucked it aside, doing the same to the front plate as well.
It won't deter her future pursuers, but it'll buy her some time.
Expertly unlocking the door from the outside, she knew exactly where some tools were under the driver's seat. Grabbing the flat-head screw she popped part of the dashboard open to hotwire the car, and soon it roared to life.
Although this is a shift-stick car, she knew exactly how to reverse and casually drive through the garage, even expertly accelerating through the security gate to the dismay of the poor operator. Not stopping until she was well out of the city.
A chill ran down her spine as she felt a presence sneak back to her side.
"Hello Phantom," Whisper spoke calmly, knowing he sought her out as soon as he got Frost to safety. He didn't even bring her all the way to the base, dropping her off about 4 blocks from the building before leaving to go find Whisper. "I take everything went well?"
He didn't expect to have to chase her down in a car but he was quick to adapt and slither his way through a crevice and into her jacket. He could feel the affects of Lora's blood wearing off, though it was enough for him to finish his part of the mission.
Something Whisper asked of him when they were on that small errand.
He shoved something in her inner pocket, a small little chip that no one would even notice is gone after he swarmed the office that startled Jennifer moments before.
"Perfect," Whisper knew exactly what was on the chip, the last bit of solid evidence that would've been transferred to the servers, evidence of the abuse of the kind of human known as Abnormal. This will serve Whisper well in the future. He also got her the various reports that were scattered around the room and a single pen.
Although she intends to not-so legally release many imprisoned Abnormals, she knows the right way to keep her people free, no matter what anyone says.
It's going to be hard to refute someone who knows you better than yourself. It's also going to be hard to reject the objective truth.
Eventually she stopped in the downtown district of the city, in a place no one would really care that there is a car parked on the side of the street. Ripping the cap off the pen she began writing on the reports, flying open the folders to scribble what seemed like nonsense all over the pages but in reality it was correcting the misinformation on the data collected on that various Abnormals, essentially rubbing in the ARC's face how little they know about her kind.
Leaving the reports in the car she took the pen with her, walking down the street with it and Phantom in her pocket as she began the hour long walk back to the other side of town, ducking into different alleyways to avoid known cameras.
Although this city was relatively modern, there were still a lot of blind spots in the thousands of cameras that populated the streets. Of course some were unavoidable, but there was always a coincidental car or larger person that Whisper was able to walk beside. Being virtually invisible while she made it back to the others.
"What's next?" Frost huffed, a little mad a Whisper and Phantom for leaving her. The others waited patiently for Whisper's orders.
"Spring and Golem's little distraction will keep the ARC busy for a while as they try to cover it up, but by now you two have gone viral," she pointed at the two men who both seemed pleased with the feedback, "Though we still need to stick around here until the others have freed some more from BEYOND."
"And then what?" Weaver edged on, knowing the answer but wanting it said aloud.
"We free out people."
