Riddhima's POV

I hear faint sounds around me.
Beeping of instruments, people speaking; wait I hear my name.
They're discussing about me.

Injury, bullet, blood loss - what is it all about.
I just feel as if I have been woken up from a deep slumber

My head feels heavy, body as if has been tied down with a strong force.
I feel paralysed.

No what's happening !!
I can't speak, I'm unable to move my fingers,I can't open my eyes.
That sniper, he....he would shoot anytime; I couldn't even speak but to hurl Vansh aside but then I don't seem to remember what happened.
The red lazer light keeps coming infront of my eyes.
What's happening to me !!!!!!
I haven't ever felt so helpless.
I want to shout, to scream my lungs out.
This feels uncomfortable.
I feel tied down.
It's all getting dizzy again.
I hear distant sound of repeated beeps - someone is calling out for a doctor and then shuffling of shoes is heard.

.................

It feels so relaxing and calm now. It feels as if I've been transported to a calmer world, a word without any chaos, without any hate.
I still hear faint murmurings; I hear my name being called out and then there was a pause, a longer one but soon after I heard two people having a discussion, a rather serious one.

"Her pulse rate accelerated and that's an indication that she was in senses. However, under the effect of high sedation she might have been unable to speak or move her body parts hence the anxiety. She might show signs of improving by evening today. Let's be hopeful"
The voice seemed different. This wasn't the voice she has ever heard. And what were they even talking about - sedation, pulse, improvement !
What was happening to her ?

A few seconds later she felt a piercing pain in her head and then as if slowly, sleep started consuming her.

Vansh sat still, waiting for her to wake up.
The doctor's words kept ringing in his ears - "she might show improvement by the evening"

It was just noon and he couldn't wait for some magic to happen and to see his wife getting better.
Was it too much to ask for ?
Time and again, he kept looking at his wrist watch and then back towards the monitor and other instruments, looking for any scope of improvement in her vitals.
His state could easily be compared to that of a child who excitedly waits to go out of his house to play in the evening.
A sense of excitement, doubt and restlessness was visible of Vansh's face.

Hours passed by but things remained the same.
He didn't care about anything at present.
The culprit, his family, the business, nothing.
He couldn't think straight.
It surprised him too.
The man for whom emotions never had a place in life was sitting here today, ignoring his work, letting his guards down, waiting eagerly for his wife to get better.
This perhaps is what they call changing for good.
This is perhaps what loving and caring for someone felt like.
This perhaps is what happens when you let a person into your heart in such a manner that you give the reigns of your life in their hands.
