The light of the Operation Theatre was still shining in bright red.
Vansh didn't know what was taking so much time.
She had been inside for more than 3 hours now.
With every ticking of the hands of the clock, his heart picked up the pace and his restlessness reached its peak.
Negative thoughts ghosted him and a storm of anxiety hit him hard.

Everything else was long forgotten - his plans, his games, his revenge; everything had taken a back seat right now. All he cared about was the woman lying inside on the operation table since hours.

It seemed that his fears were indeed coming to life -- the fear of losing everyone close to him.

He did feel betrayed by her actions but he also can't forget what she means to him.

Burning in the fire of revenge, he had probably forced his mind and heart to not think about his love for her, to think of her as an enemy, as a person who played with him and his feelings but today, seeing her in that condition, that too because of him made him realise that he had never stopped loving her.
He couldn't ever consider her as an enemy.
He realised that all this while when he thought he was seeking revenge, it was only his anger that made him so mean towards her.
He was in a situation where he no more knew what to do, how to react.
He wasn't a fool to not realise the seriousness of her condition. He has seen the amount of blood loss she had before being taken inside for operation and he had seen how her body was getting cold and face was pale, indicating that those wounds she had were fatal.
He knew it was a difficult situation, survival rates would be less but somehow his mind and heart wouldn't just accept this fact.

He who never believed in miracles, today desperately wanted one to happen.

The man who had refused to bow down infront of anyone, the one who never surrendered I'm front of the deadliest of situations, stood all helpless today.
There was a feeling of frustration and worthlessness seeping deep inside of him.

He failed her, AGAIN.

He could not protect her, infact she once again became his shield, protecting him like always.

"This is surely more fatal than the first shootout" , he thought
The first one had her shoulder injured badly but at least at that time, her life wasn't at stake.
This time that bullet had come straight towards his heart but she came between as usual and got hit a few inches above her own heart.

A ting was heard, the light went green and out came the team of doctors.
Vansh was only so much in his senses that he went ahead and inquired about Riddhima.

Taking a long and deep breath, he gathered some courage walked inside the private room she was now transferred to.

Seeing her lying in the hospital gown, covered with all types of medical equipments only made things appear scarier for Vansh.
The machines were beeping at one side of the bed and the vigo was getting it's dose of medicine drop by drop from the stand on the other side.
The right side of the junction between her shoulder and chest dressed with bandage and the left arm covered with BP monitoring machine.
Blood was being supplied to her at a steady rate and the oxygen cylinder did it's work well by transferring oxygen into her system through the mask, this helping her to breathe.
