"Do you need a map?"
"Nope, people with Shaque can sense darkness."
Tayla lit her fire and blew a particle of purple fire into the air.
"The fire will lead the way."
"Are you ok Jonah?" Kalin asked.
"I'm fine, I'm just tired."
"It's the Shaque it's draining a lot of your energy. You'll get used to it. We only have until sunset tomorrow to reach Malanian Valley."
We set up camp for the night.
In the morning Tayla nudged us awake and
we walked for the rest of the day.
"We are almost there."
The Malanian Valley was full of white daisies. The sun felt warm on our faces, I felt a bead of sweat run down my nose.
Just then, I cried out in pain.
"Jonah!"
"Kalin stay back, Jonah has reached Roque."
My feet rose up off the ground. My body was engulfed in purple flames.
"What's happening?!" She yelled over the sound of the flames.
Tayla held Kalin tight in her arms, as she fought to break free of her grip.
The mother dark wisp was larger than a cyclone. It had bright red lights for eyes, and shining jagged teeth. The creature bared its teeth before shifting into a snake and wrapping itself around my neck.
I choked, trying to pry it off me. The purple flames fought back, leaving scorch marks on its body. Finally, I managed to break free and find my balance. I shot a stream of flames at the dark wisp until it exploded into ash.
I watched the ashes fall down from the sky as I landed softly back down to earth.
I felt like all my strength had me drained from my body.
Kalin, hugged me close, "Are you hurt?"
"I...I'm fine," I whispered, struggling to get the words out.
