Deserving Better

Thomas's Office

Finn bursted through Thomas's office doors "what's wrong" Thomas asked jumping up from his chair looking at the expression Finn wore on his face.

"I caught Eric gripping Gracies hair at the shop he kept screaming and shouting at her come quick" Finn was out of breath from how quick he ran to the office "right go get John and Arthur, I'll ring Pol" With that Finn ran back outside and towards the betting den where his brothers were most likely going to be.

Thomas picked up his phone dialling Pollys number.

"Yes Tommy"

"Finn just came running into my office shouting about Eric hurting Gracie I need you down here to comfort her while we try sort Eric out and  find out what's going on"

"Of course I'll bring Michael he seems to get along with Gracie May"

Jealously flared throughout Thomas's body but he pushed his feeling away right now he needed to focus on her safety

"Right bye"

Thomas hung up and left the office telling Lizzie to cancel all his meetings and reschedule them for tomorrow.

Kings Shop

Gracie May watched Eric leave the shop with a smirk laid on his face before he is shoved back in the door by John and Arthur with Finn shouting behind them. Gracie May jumped up from her chair she had been sitting on "guys stop what's going on" playing dumb "I saw this prick hurting you Flower that's not good enough" Finn told Gracie May with anger laced in his eyes.

Eric was shoving John and Arthur trying to get out of their grip "stop moving twat" John shouted almost laughing at the pathetic excuse of a man underneath him "alright fuck what are you fuckers doing" Eric asked also playing dumb "our brother here saw you putting hands on our flower" Arthur growled tightening his grip around Eric's neck "I-I didn't d-do shit" he gasped trying to speak.
"Arthur stop it please" Gracie May spoke softly putting her shaky hand on Arthur shoulder.

Loosening his grip Arthur looked at Gracie May "can't let him go flower he'll hurt ye and us men don't like that do we now lads" John started shaking his head.

"No we don't like it at all Tommy is coming now" When the words left Johns mouth Gracie May nearly fainted "Tommy is coming oh shit" Gracie May started to panic while John almost laughed at the Swedish girl making cursing sound so polite.

After a few minutes Thomas walked in with Polly and Micheal "oh lord is this some kind of family reunion" Gracie May muttered now embarrassed that all the Shelby's and Grays were now involved
"Right Gracie May you come with me" Polly spoke sternly knowing Gracie May will not want to leave Eric alone with the boys "Pol I can't-" Polly gave her 'the look'.

"Come on Gracie" Michael spoke softly sticking his hand out for Gracie May to grab which she did as she trusted Michael and it didn't go unnoticed by Thomas "we are just gonna chat him Gracie don't worry" Thomas told Gracie May slightly lying.

"Okay" Gracie May whispered in reply leaving the shop with Polly and Michael "are you going to explain what happened or are we gonna have to force it out of you" Polly spoke up as they all walked to Gracie Mays house "Pol I think it's a big misunderstanding" the Swedish girl tried to convince the Gray duo "no it's not Gracie you can tell us if something is going on if Eric is abusive" Michael said opening Gracie Mays front door letting her in.

After they all sat at the table drinking some tea Polly had made which was Gracie Mays favourite tea she sighed "he just has a temper he doesn't mean it I promise" Gracie May told them causing them to scoff "Gracie if he does that sober what is he like drunk you've been wincing all day and limping the whole way home the shop is only a few minutes away what is going on, what's really going on" Polly replied trying to get something out of Gracie May.

"Gracie we can help Eric will be gone just like that" Polly shoved Micheal because of how blunt he was being "what I'm serious he doesn't deserve you" Michael replied clearly becoming frustrated with the thought of Gracie May being abused.

Gracie May knew their guard would be up from now on even more then it was before.

Tommy bursted through the door scaring Gracie May "Jesus Tommy" she muttered holding her chest "sorry about that right I'm staying here for a few days til things calm down as for that prick he can fuck off and stay somewhere else" Gracie May tried to protest knowing whenever Thomas leaves she will be beat stupid by Eric "no Gracie I've dealt with him" Gracie May nodded in reply with a quiet thank you.

Her thoughts were buzzing around in her head trying to figure out what they did to him.

Pol and Michael left kissing her cheeks "if you need anything Gracie I'm here understand" Polly smiled sincerely at her best friend "yes Pol I understand".
Michael hugged her goodbye whispered the same thing as his mother.

After they left Thomas sat down on one of the kitchen chairs "how long" Gracie May looked up at Thomas confused.

"What"

"How long has this being going on the beating"

"Tommy-"

"He cheats Gracie he cheats on you he gets jealous easily over little things you say he has a temper he pops out of no where and lands here he told Arthur and John you were sick that anything that happened in London between you two isn't true your parents just didn't like him and you went crazy because of that"

Gracie May was shocked at the lies he told her friends "well that's not true I'm not sick at all" Thomas knew she wasn't sick if anything she was probably sick of Eric "I believe you so I'm staying here for a few days and I mean it Gracie he can stay in Small Heath for now but one more incident with him  and he is gone understood".

Gracie May nodded her head "I understand Tommy, will Grace not be mad that you are staying here" Thomas almost laughed at Gracie May and how thoughtful she is even though his lover hasn't been nice towards her Gracie May still thought about how Grace might feel.

"She wouldn't care and anyways your safety is more important" Thomas smiled at Gracie May bringing her into a hug.

"I deserve better dont I" Gracie May whimpered feeling weakness overcome her with the comfort Thomas was giving her.

"We all do Gracie we all do just you need to realise who does deserve you" Thomas replied looking into her beautiful eyes.

Her eyes shunned of innocence but there was still a mystery he needed to unsolve.

"That person is taken Tommy" Gracie May whispered back before heading to bed leaving Thomas to sleep in the guest room.
