Chapter 4~Another episode

"Babe,what's wrong?"Mr.tall,blonde and handsome asked me.
"Um,are you allowed to do that"I asked him.
"To do what?"he asked.
"You know,kiss me like that in public?"I said.
"Come on,I think the 'public' already knows we're dating,Kelly"he said gesturing with air quotes.
"We're dating?"I asked.
"Are you okay Kels?did you have another episode?"he asked caressing my cheekbones with concern furrowed in his brows.
I recalled Kelly's nocturnal seizures that had affected her since she was nine years old,it normally wiped out half of her memory,but the good news is we've been able to get a good grip on it with medications.....Medications!! Kelly didn't take them this morning. Oh wait,I'm her.
"Babe,you sure you're okay"he asked with fear in his crystal blue eyes.
"Kelly's medications"I managed to say almost hyperventilating.
"Oh,we keep a spare in my locker,I'll get it"he suggested.
"I'll follow you"I said tagging along.
I followed this surprisingly good-looking kid through the hallways,unaware of my destination. For what its worth,he's my daughter's forbidden boyfriend,its tradition to not like him or trust him,but I'm actually stuck in my daughter's body,so I'll make an exception.
"Here"he said holding out a bottle of familiar pills...Kelly's pills,when we got to his locker.
"Thanks,um..babe"I said.
What?
I had a career in acting,sue me!
"I'll see you after school,I gotta get to class and please don't throw the pills away,they're for your own good. Love you"he said as he planted a quick kiss on my forehead and left.
I was alone in the hallway again,just staring blankly into space,the loud bells ringing and kids trying to get to class.
So much for first day of school.
"Kelly-Pearl Justin,are you on crack?!"a familiar menacing voice called from behind me.
I turned around,surprised to see Kelly and I's most favorite person,Nat storming towards me.
Anger and frustration creased on her beautiful melanin skin.
"Hey,kiddo"I said,totally forgetting I was in Kelly's body.
"What the heck,dude?"Nat said ignoring me."You do realize we have a Chemistry test in a few minutes and you promised you'd help me ace it".she continued.
Kelly knows Chemistry and she has a boyfriend? Boy! I really don't know my own daughter and that's pretty messed up and like I probably mentioned,I don't do messed up.
"Hello,Earth to Kelly?"Nat said snapping her fingers at me."Are you alright? Did you have another episode? Talk to me!Actually,walk with me,we'll be late to class"she suggested with a worried frown on her face.
"I'm okay"I reassured her."I just didn't know Kelly knew Chemistry"I said,forgetting my acting skills.
"Well,'Kelly' is a master of all things science and she promised to help her bestie with prep before the test,'Kelly' even made a pinkie promise to help said bestie get over her breakup with Sean"Nat impatiently said.
"I'm sorry,I got carried away"I apologized not sure why.
"Yeah,no kidding"she said pulling me to a class with a lot of teens. I became pretty nervous. I just followed her until she sat in what I presumed to be her chair,I scooched beside her. Besties sit together,right?
"Uh...Personal space,Kels"Nat half muttered.
Lucky guess.
"Here!"Nat said as she dropped a huge Chemistry textbook on the table and started flipping the pages seemingly looking for something,"Aha!"she exclaimed with triumph.
"I've got issues with this equation right here,I don't know if I should have divided this by the co- efficient of x or hey,are you listening?"
I was barely listening,I stared down at the equation thingy,it was scarcely made up of numbers,just scary letters and chemical elements. I started to sweat. It's been centuries since I last worked out Chemistry or since I'd opened a book,how in the world did I get into College again?
I stared hard at the equation trying to crack its code or something. Why did I think I could possibly pull off being Kelly?
'Try to keep your grades up' I once told Kelly,while I can't even keep her grades up. If I keep going at this rate,I'm gonna flunk Kelly right out of school. I can't do this.
MISSION ABORT! MISSION ABORT!!
"What's wrong Kelly?"Nat asked,genuine concern in her hazel eyes. I looked over at her,she wiped my face with her hanky.
She's Kelly's best friend,I can tell her the truth....right?
"For Christ sake Kelly,enough with the zoning out,talk to me!!"Nat half yelled.
"I'm pregnant!"
