chapter thirty-six, Gustus, Justus

THE COMMANDER LEXA GAVE CLARKE and Nova separate tents to clean off since they were both covered in blood. Nova walks up to the bowl of water and dips her shaky hands into it. Tears fell down Nova's face as she used her soaked hands to clean her friend's blood off her cheek.
Nova cleared her throat and fanned her hands letting them air dry. She walked out her tent and Raven is seen grieving over Finn's body and Clarke walked over to her comforting her. Nova walked over and as she got closer; she saw her mother's body next to him.
Raven and Clarke turned around while kneeled over Finn's body. His face was bloody, and his stomach had small cuts on it.
"Get the hell away!" Raven screams as she lunges to Nova. Nova backs away unbothered as Clarke grabs Raven and holds her back. Nova walked over to her mom with blood on her shirt from Clarke stabbing her. Nova sniffles and pushes her mom's hair back.
"Are you not even going to apologize?" Raven asked as she stood to her feet. Nova looked up at Raven then covered her mother gently then stood up to her feet.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry Finn never loved you. I'm sorry you looked stupid in front of the entire camp. But what I'm not sorry is for killing him. I made it even. Blood... for blood" Nova says stepping to Raven and looking down at her as she was slightly taller than her. Tears fell down Raven's cheek before she shook her head.
"He was your friend...." Raven breathed out then pushed Nova away and swung her arm in front of her and punched Nova in the face.
Nova fell to the ground and put her hand to her nose. Blood poured from it and Nova wiped it off with her sleeve. "Okay! Okay, calm down" Clarke says gently pushing Raven away then kneeling down to Nova and placed her hand on her arm Nova jerked her arm away and pushed Clarke away. Nova stood to her feet and so did Clarke.
"We're taking them back to the village where the massacre took place, there's a death ritual. It's the only way to get our people out of Mount Weather" Clarke says. "I'm coming with" Nova states and Raven nods her head.
"I'm coming too. And don't worry, I'll bring the damn radio" Raven scoffs walking away leaving just Nova and Clarke.
"Nova- I had to. They would have tortured her" Clarke states and Nova nods her head slowly. "Don't remember asking" Nova says with a fake taunting smile as she and Clarke watch the grounders take Finn and Layla's body away.
