A Heart of Ice

Down the streets of Paris was another young man, another poor soul who was alone on such a day. Vincent had his hands in the pockets of his red and white hoodie, his eyes gazing at the street as he walked to his apartment. Vincent Alderman was a digital artist who made enough money to give himself a comfortable life but because of digital art being his hidden passion, no one knew him in real life. He had told his parents about it when he first started digital art, but he found them to be unsupportive.

Vincent ran away from home six months earlier, but his family never contacted him after. He now lived alone, and this was first Christmas without his family. Vincent walked across many stores on the way, all lit up with lights not only with candles but also smiles and laughter. Parents buying their kids presents, friends riding bikes around the city, couples holding hands and walking. A young kid came across him. "Hello and Merry Christmas, here is a candy cane." She handed it to him and rushed to the next person, doing the same.

Vincent felt a void, an emptiness eating him from inside, he felt like crying, but he couldn't. He just held back his tears and continued walking till he saw the huge Christmas tree in the middle of the city, shimmering. It reminded him of all those Christmas holidays he had spent with his family, the dinners, the after-dinner games and the stories. The void started to eat him, making him hollow and the perfect prey for Shadow Moth.

Gabriel felt goosebumps as his broch gave a little light. He turned to the portrait of Emilie. "Maybe today is the day my love, when we reunite. On the day of Christmas." He spoke to her, as if she really was there. Gabriel clicked a few buttons and reached down to his lair.

"Nooroo Duusuu dual metamorphosis!" A cloud of purple smoke covered Gabriel as he transformed into his alter ego. "A soul tormented by the happiness of the outside while his loneliness eats him. A cold soul, a heart of ice. Go my dear akuma and help him. The butterfly of evilness flew to Vincent as a tear rolled his face. The akuma went into the candy cane he was holding.

"Glacial Heart, I am Shadow Moth." He spoke as the purple outline of a mask appeared on his face. "Spending a holiday like Christmas alone is like a curse, let me give you the power to make others experience what you feel."

"Of course. I'm all yours." Vincent answered. Shadow Moth grinned. Vincent was soon surrounded by black fog.

He emerged from it with a new look, hard ice covering his whole body with pitch black almond shaped designs at the place of his eyes. The candy cane was behind all that layer of ice. The people around the area screamed in fear. Glacial Heart started to float in the air, reaching the top of the tree. He took the star out and crushed it, then waved his hand throwing it away. "Let's ruin Christmas!" He growled. A blizzard soon covered the city of Paris, peeling off the decorations and destroying the Christmas tree.

"This is Nadia Chamak live, a new villain seems to have appeared and this is none other than Shadow Moth's doing. This new villain who apparently calls himself 'Glacial Heart' is destroying the city on Christmas Eve. We advise everyone to stay at home, Ladybug and Cat Noir will come to save Christmas!" Tom switched off the TV, covering Sabine with the blanket. "We'll be fine dear. Ladybug and Cat Noir will come soon." Sabine assured him. Marinette heard all this from her room. "Tikki, we've got to save Christmas. Tikki, Spots on!" Marinette transformed into the well-known and loved superhero, Ladybug. She went to her balcony, the fast winds hit her, causing her to fall back. "Guess it's time for a change." She said to herself and ate the blue macaron, giving herself the ice power up.

Ladybug swung through the city, the blizzard made it difficult, but she managed to travel. She turned her head from left to right, looking for him.

"Looking for something?" A deep voice questioned her from behind. She turned around, but an icy blow hit her body. She collided with the wall behind and groaned.

Adrien was woken up by the sound of the winds crashing against his windows. "Whoa! Plagg, what's happening?"

"You might want to see this yourself." Plagg replied. Adrien jumped out of bed and dashed to the window. A wild snowstorm seemed to have appeared. "Well, guess we have got to investigate this, Plagg."

"I think the ice power-up would be helpful." Plagg suggested, Adrien nodded, approving his suggestion. He fed him a piece of blue cheese. "Plagg, power up!"

A tiny ice crown was on his head. "Plagg Glacial." He spoke.

Plagg Glacial, Claws Out!" Adrien's body was covered by a black cat-themed suit, with ice skating shoes and a few customizations. He opened the window and using his stick, jumped out of his room through the window. Cat Noir used his stick to wander around the city to find the cause of this sudden blizzard.

He jumped from rooftop to rooftop until he finally saw someone, a familiar face. It was Ladybug. Cat Noir started to follow her, catching up to her before he saw her being thrown against a wall.

"Oh dear. So, you're the holder of the miraculous I was told about." He said, his voice sounded grumpy. Glacial Heart walked closer to Ladybug, but Cat Noir jumped into action and pushed him away with his stick. "No one touches my lady." He growled. Ladybug got up.

"I don't wish you any harm, just give me those jewels and we're all happy. I might even let you two have a wonderful Christmas." He gave an evil grin. "Keep dreaming, we're going to save Christmas." Cat Noir said. "And will never surrender our miraculous!" Ladybug joined in.

"Well, I tried to be reasonable," he cracked another smile and raised his head, his eyes now glowed red, and a storm seemed to form over his head. "But I guess, you don't like that." He raised his right arm. Sharp shards of ice started to fire like bullets from a gun.
