At the Foot of the Cliff

As soon as goodbyes were said, I was off to see what lays ahead.
I came to a wall, which turned out to be an entire cliff when I looked up. It was at the very least 50 feet tall, with several discarded rocks joining me at it's foot.
As I began to long to see what was at the top of this cliff, each rock opened it's mossy eyes and began to explain to me. They spoke of knowing your path, knowing your way, and not coveting anyone else's. They continued, saying the top of the cliff is the road destined for someone else, with a good reason for it to be. There was no sound reason for me to go out of my way for it.
At once I agreed, thanked them, and continued on my own path.
