Chapter 2:

The crying of a new-born filled the room. The mother of that child looked down at the infant with a big smile and her own tears trailing down her red cheeks. The father stood next to the bed that the mother lay on. A fierce feeling of possessiveness grew over him as he stared down at the two most beautiful people in his life. This was his new life, for both him and his wife.

The smile that was on the mother's face was reflected onto the Father's. Pride and love had already swelled inside of him and he could not be happier of this day. But in mere moments, a pang of guilt hit him. He had not told his wife the secrets that he kept from her. Secrets that could mean danger for his mate and pup.

"Celina," His mate whispered. Yes, he agreed in his mind. There could be no other name for their child, because she would be the moonlight that leads them all when there is darkness.

---- 7 years later ---

"Maxwell! Do not let Celina go out to the waterfall alone!" Mari yelled at her mate, who simply watched his daughter run out of the house, her favorite wolf stuffed animal inside of her hands.

"What? She is perfectly fine. There is no danger Mari. I have guards surrounding our territory and some stationed right next to the waterfall in case Celina randomly decided to go there without telling us." He walked over calmly to his worried mate.

As soon as Celina stepped over the threshold of the door, she sprang up into the air with a grin. Her dark locks bouncing and blue eyes sparkling. She spun around in circles in the sun, before deciding that she would have a swim. She glanced at the pack house for a second, knowing she should tell momma and daddy before leaving, but ended up going anyway.

Daddy didn't usually say anything. She knew he kept his big muscly men around, so that was why he wasn't too worried about her safety. Besides, daddy taught her how to fight. She grinned and screamed, "Hi-yah!" and mimicked a karate chop she saw on television.

She thought about inviting Rena with her, but decided not to. Rena was with her own daddy today, Uncle Adam! She would not interrupt them. Momma said that was rude. Maybe she could invite Devin, but he said he was going to be training with Uncle Sam. Uncle Zach might come, but what if he ate his mate's face again! She shivered, today she would go by herself.

After walking through the woods, she finally came to her home. She liked to call it her home because no one else lived here. She was the one who was here the most, so therefore it was hers!

"I'm home!" She called out as if there was someone waiting for her there. There was no response, but it seemed like she expected it. The black-haired little princess entered a path that only she knew about. She made it! The girl finally came across a small opening that she could fit through that would lead to a part of a cave behind the waterfall that she only had access to.

In there, she had blankets and a flashlight. On the floor of the small cave was also a few books that she loved. Fairy-tales! She giggled. Momma always asked where the girl's books disappeared to, but Celina told her momma that it was a secret!

It was time for a swim, she reminded herself. The girl got out of the cave through the opening and ran out to jump into the pool of water below. "Weee!" She screamed and laughed. It was too bad she was by herself, Rena and Devin would have loved to swim! Summer is ending soon and she knew that momma would definitely not allow her to swim at all. She would catch a cold.

After swimming for hours, she noticed that it was now dark and her parents would be worried. Staring up at the full moon in the dark sky, she saw a bright star flicker. She wanted to so badly touch the star, but knew she wouldn't be able to. Daddy told her that she would soon start talking to her wolf. But that was when she was ten. She wanted a friend that wasn't going to be busy all the time! One that was with her always... Her own wolf.
