The Alpha's Secrets

Chapter 1:

I was panting. Gosh, the sun was creating a sauna out here. I waved my hand up and down to create some wind. There should be some kind of shade around here... Wait a minute. Wasn't Max and the boys supposed to install some sort of patio right here? I groaned in frustration. I ask Max to do one thing and he doesn't do it. I'm the damn Luna for peat's sake.

"Max! Max!" I screamed from my sun chair.

From my heightened wolf senses, I could hear some running around inside and shouting. "Max, the queen wants you. Everybody run!" Someone yelled and there was some 'I'm getting the hell out of here' and other cursing. Then everything was silent.

Here we go again.

"Good luck with the she-devil." I thought I heard Adam snicker. I could hear Max's growl which never failed to make me smile. Heavy footsteps came closer and closer to the screen door and I sat in my chair patiently waiting for Max to come over.

When the screen door opened and then closed, I still didn't move. Wafting my hand in my face, I kept my other hand on my stomach. It was a natural thing for me now. Looking in a mirror every morning, I see what looks like a glow around my belly. No one else, but Max has noticed it. Every day, every hour, every minute and second, I'd have a strong feeling to protect the growing little cub inside of me. I don't know what it was, but I feel like when I give birth to our child, there's going to be something more about him or her than being the heir for the next Alpha.

"You wanted something Princess?" His deep voice still surprises me, but I don't show it.

"Yeah." I responded, but did not turn around. Max was always on edge these days. Though, I couldn't really blame him. He was going to make a great father.

"Look at me." He demanded. Oh and did I mention he was much more commanding too? I always made sure to put him in his place though. He and I both knew that he was the one wrapped around my finger.

But, I didn't argue. I haven't seen him since this morning because he had to have a video chat with the surrounding Alphas in the area. Ever since our marriage, our pack  flourished. When I turned my head around while staying seated in my lounge chair, I met his piercing blue eyes with a grin. He grinned back and stepped closer to me. Then my grin slid off my face. I watched as his eyes widened and he knew hell was about to come.

"Didn't I ask for some shade around here? I thought you and the boys were going to make a patio or something over here! Tell Sam, Zach and Adam to come out here right now to help you make one!" I yelled, but then rubbed my belly.

"Stop yelling... It's alright, just calm down. I'll tell them to come out here now and we'll make it." Max said calmly with both his hands raised in the air. I narrowed my eyes at him, and then huffed. I got up out of my lounge chair and walked over to him.

"You better." Was all I said before pecking him on the lips and then opened the screen door. "If you finish by tomorrow, I'll give you five kisses!"

"Make it a hundred and it's a deal." He smirked, "I never get any action anymore."

"You're getting a little dirty Max. Save it for when I'm not carrying your cub in my body." I rolled my eyes and walked inside.

"How do you know it's not more than one cub?" Max asked smugly.
