I would have liked Huo Jun to be more handsome. Alas, this is my sketch of him.

ChenXing peered into the cave. He'd never seen this corner of the Celestial Realm before. He edged his way in, found a tall, cylindrical creature, beige and shapeless. It was sewing two sheets of spiritual energy together with a bit of thread. The being had no arms or legs, just a stump of a figure.

ChenXing sidled up to the creature. "I'm bored."

"Hi Bored. What do you want?"

ChenXing winced. "That's a stupid joke."

     "You're stupid."

ChenXing pushed the creature and it pushed back. A giggle percolated out of each of them. Little ChenXing sat his nose on the rim of the table where the creature was working.

"Do you like the clothes I'm making for the Celestials?" the creature said, holding the garment of energy up.

"Why are you doing it like that?"

The needle moved through the air as if by magic. "It's the way human beings do it."

"It's a lot of work to do it that way."

"Human beings are ingenious. I find their methods simple and efficient."

ChenXing touched the creature, its supple skin and body. ChenXing slid his nimble fingers into a crevice running along what should have been a spine.

    "What is that?"

"Don't worry about that. I got mad once. But I got rid of it. I'm better now."

ChenXing said, "Why do you look like this?"

"Gonglu made me like this. I'm the first. You might have heard about me. He wasn't very good at making Celestials back then."

"Why don't you make a new body for yourself?"

"It would hurt Gonglu's feelings if he was criticized for his first attempt. So I stay this way so he won't feel bad."

The others were calling for ChenXing. Some trilled, worry carrying through the air.

ChenXing dug a hand into where the creature's arm should be. "Let's go."

"The others don't like looking at me, so I stay here," the being said.

At the mouth of the cave, the crooked, bent creature, Mogui, was hunched over, lingering. "What are you doing here, brat prince?"

     "I'm bored."

     "I'm Mogui. That's Chou."

"That's rude! Don't call Gege that."
