Chapter 2: Dodgeball Devil

"Mika, I don't mean to alarm you, but there may or may not be a spider on your back." I say, eyeing the eight-legged creature. "What?!" Mika turns around and screams. "AHHHHH!" "Kill it! Kill it!" The boys chanted. Danny rolls his music sheet into a long tube and starts whacking Mika's back. The spider falls to the ground. "Throw it out the window!" Jasmine calls. Danny picks it up on the tube and throws it out. "Was it poisonous? I think it was! I think I feel dizzy! Am I gonna die?" Mika freaks out. "No worries, Mi. Even if you WERE going to die, I would die with you." I said. Mika smiles. "Thanks, Jessie. You're a true friend." Mrs. Alia comes back. "Okay, students. Since Mr. Daniels will be in the hospital for a while, you are dismissed from class a little early." Everyone starts cheering. "HOWEVER, you must make up this time in your next class." Everyone starts groaning. "Aw, nuts! I have Geography next!" Parker crosses his arms. Mika and I quickly go to our lockers. "I feel bad for Mr. Daniels. Maybe we should visit him after school and bring him flowers or something." Mika suggests. I'm not the biggest fan of flowers, since roses make me sneeze and tulips make me cough. And I don't know why, but smelling daisies make me get a huge headache. And if you think THAT'S weird, you should see what lilies do to me! Mika and I continue talking at our lockers, when the bell rings. Everyone starts pouring out of their classrooms. Suddenly, a really good-looking guy goes to the locker beside me. He is literally unicorns + rainbows and a touch of glitter all in one. Mika's mouth was in a perfect O. "OMG OMG HES SO HOT OMG!!!" Mika whisper-shouts. He must've heard Mika, because he smiled in our direction. "Hey, I'm Jake." "And I'm YOUR future wife!" Mika says excitedly. "Pardon?" Jake asks. "She MEANS," I say, glaring at her, "Her name is Mika and my name is Jessie." "Beautiful names for beautiful girls." Jake gives us another smile. I think Mika fainted on me. "Well, I better not be late for Gym." Jake locks his locker, carrying his gym clothes. "Oh, I have Gym next, too!" I say, looking at my schedule. "At the cafeteria, tell me EVERYTHING." Mika whispers. I nod and I follow Jake to the gym on the downstairs floor. "So, Jessie. It's a pleasure to meet you and your friend!" Jake puts his arm around me. Oh, if you're gonna put your arm around me, just kiss me already! "Yeah, nice to meet you too." I say to him. His breath smells like mint. And of course, Vanessa and her Gang have to show up. Vanessa takes one look at me and Jake and instantly starts flirting with Jake. "Hey, handsome! How are you doing? You're looking fine today!" Vanessa says, twirling her hair. Jake makes small talk with her. What a douche. "Well, we gotta go now." I interrupt their conversation about helicopters, and grab Jake's hand and almost drag him to the Gym. "She's hot." Jake nods, staring at Vanessa's behind. "Oh, don't even GO there!" I roll my eyes. "She may have great -ahem- assets, but there's nothing GREAT about her personality." Jake snaps out of it and finally faces forward for the first time in forever. Finally, we reach the gym and change into our gym clothes. Let's just say that Jake looks GOOD in his gym clothes. "Okay, my Olympians. Twenty push ups, each of you. Let's go!" Ms. River, the gym teacher, blows her whistle. I get to twenty with no trouble. For a nerd, I'm pretty athletic. I finished before anyone, even Jake, who looks super fit and slim. "Good, good. Now five laps around the gym! Come on, let me see those feet moving!" Ms. River, again, blows her whistle. Again, I am super ahead of everyone and I was done my laps a minute before the second person was finished. "Not bad! Okay. Today, we will be playing dodgeball. You will be split into four teams of four, and you will face off against another team. Skyler, Jessie, Jake and Austin, you are Team 1." Skylerhigh fives everyone. " Team 2 will be Noah, Eva, Troy, and Isabel." I am glad I'm not in that team, because two of the Snooty Six are in there, Eva and Troy. "Team 3 is Bridgette, Hannah, Jason, and Ethan." Oh great, another cute boy is on Team 3. Ethan. "And lastly, Team 4 will be James, Nikki, Sophia, and Alex." I would actually really like to see how Nikki, piano girl, plays dodgeball. "First will be Team 1 against Team 2!" Oh no, I have to face Eva and Troy. Ms. River throws out four balls into the gym. Somehow, I manage to grab a ball. I aim for Troy. Miss. Skyler, who is as athletic as me, if not more, already got Eva out. This time, I go for Isabel, the weakest. Hit. Then, Noah hits Jake. "Aw, man!" Jake sits out. It goes on, until there are only 2 left, Skyler and Troy. We win! Troy gets really raged and started swearing. He threw the ball with anger and it hit someone in the face. That someone was me.
