A/N: Hey guys! I'm so happy to be giving this message! Why The Rivers Run Red is back! I've got some new help from my boyfriend to write it so I'm super excited to be continuing it. Hope you all enjoy! :)

The first rays of dawn set on the horizon, the forest looked much more peaceful than the gruesome scene left behind at the river. But Clementine didn't let the scenery distract her from her main task. They still needed to find food and if they were lucky a place to stay.

Clem didn't see either of those things in the near future but she had to remain positive for her little brother's sake. She didn't want to let on that she secretly had no idea what she was doing.

Walkers weren't what she was afraid of. Being immune to their bite made surviving easier than most other people. But being hunted by smart people with guns was another story. Once again someone power crazy had found out her secret. No one ever said being a werewolf was easy.

Not only were they hunted for their pelts, but for their bite that granted them immunity from walker bites. But she knew that that power in the wrong hands could be disastrous. Plus she wasn't just going to be used for her powers, she certainly wasn't going to fight in some war she had no business being involved in just because someone wanted her to. She certainly wasn't going to put AJ in that situation either.

AJ?

She looked to her side to see the wolf pup lagging behind and she stopped. He walked up to her panting and sat down. "Can we stop? I'm tired and hungry."

Clem looked at the ground guiltily. They'd been walking for hours without rest and AJ didn't have as much stamina as she did. He needed a break. "Okay. We'll stop for a few minutes." And she sat down.

But it wasn't even a minute later before she lifted her muzzle to the air and sniffed. She licked her lips hungrily.

"Whatcha smell?" AJ asked.

"Rabbit," Clem stated simply. "Wait here."

Clem lifted her muzzle and took in a deep breath. The scent of rabbit drifted to her nose and she pinpointed its location. She laid down in a crouch and slowly crept forward. Her paw pads, silent on the dirt path before her.

Her ears twitched at the noise of crunching leaves and she peered over a shrub. The rabbit was in sight. Clem licked her lips but knew better than to get too excited. She relaxed her muscles and was ready to spring. "Three...two...one!"

She pounced. The unsuspecting rabbit didn't have a chance as she lunged and caught it in her massive jaws, snapping its neck.

Clementine inwardly smiled at her prize. She was about to take her kill back to AJ when her ears picked up another sound. She could hear the sound of running and soon a shout was heard. "There it is! I told you I saw one!"

Clem panicked on the inside. Was the Delta still after them?

Lost in panic she missed the arrow that was shot at her. Luckily it missed and pierced the tree behind her.

Clem dropped her kill and ran. She burst through the shrubs and raced back to where she left AJ.

He caught sight of her and his voice sounded panicked in her head. "Clem!?"

But she didn't respond. Instead, she gripped him by the scruff and carried him to safety. She ran a couple of yards before jumping behind a series of bushes. She sat down AJ and crouched over him and they waited.

Clem's ears were alert for any oncoming noise. They perked up as the sound of crunching leaves was heard. Then there were voices. "I know I saw it come this way."
