A baku biology lesson? I suppose I could...
So, let's get started...
First of all, what exactly are baku? Well, they're tapir-like spirits who feed on dreams and nightmares. Legend has it that the first baku was created when the gods made a creature out of spare animal parts. This is also known as "chimera".
However, not all baku appear as chimera. And just because the first baku was born as chimera doesn't mean it's our true form.
Baku are not total shapeshifters. Usually a typical baku can take one of three forms, one of them being that of a tapir. This is how most baku look when they first come into existence.
As a baku matures, they are able to take a human form. This is my preferred form, as it helps me get what I want easier. At first glance, we may be indistinguishable, however, there are some key differences, such as pale skin, pointed ears, or unusually colored eyes.
Compared to other youkai, we baku are fairly weak. However, we do have certain abilities such as being able to put you to sleep as well as increased flexibility in human form. Or perhaps that's just me.
And finally, some more strange things you all seem insistent on sending me (Not that I mind)
Hmm...I can't help but wonder if that was personal...
