Tim's smirk only widened as he fixed his stare on the furious Stacey. He moisturized his lip, moving forward until he was just an inch from her, "What did you think? That I could fall for ghetto trash like her? Bitch please, I have standards," He flaunted, fixing his black tie that resembled his heart.
I hope you choke yourself with your ugly tie. I prayed quietly.
Was I evil? Hell, yeah. But for a good reason. And that was probably the reason my prayer got an answer instantly. It was a big NO because when I opened my eyes, instead of finding Tim turning blue, he was pacing in our living room as if it was his.
He finally stopped and directed his attention towards the stairs. He wiggled his eyebrows, and I shook my head no, and he wiggled again. What a big baby! I did not want Brenda speaking to that piece of shit before I talked to her.
I had so many things I needed to clear out. With a smile, Tim started," Mrs.Jenkins! come down, we need to talk! " He shouted, walking around the house but making sure to stop on the exact spot every time. He was impatient, or maybe he was just scared of catching germs. Whatever it was, I hated that he was making noise in my house.
"Keep your voice down," I growled.
"Why? are you afraid I will wake your dead parent?" He hurled over his shoulder and turned his attention back. What kind of human being was that? I wanted to say something, but we heard the door squeaking. It banged shut before we saw Brenda looking at us.
"Tim?" She called, surprised. "Tim, you came." This time she sounded happy and relieved. She headed for the stairs and started running toward us. Tim could not hide his victory smirk or malice. I could not stand there and watch without bushing his head, and to be honest, I had no idea how I could keep controlling myself. So I started walking away. However, Tim had a death wish because he gripped my arm, forcing me to stop. I looked at that hand before raising my eyes to his face. He leaned, his eyes never leaving Brenda," Remember Romeo, if you tell her anything, I will deny it. It is your word against mine. "He whispered. He let go and fixed his tie again.
I swallowed bitterly as the information sank in. Tim was right, you know. Brenda would never believe us over him. He was her fiance, and sadly, she was blindly in love with him.
I finally made my way to where Stacey was standing, and she held my arm soothingly. Her eyes tried to assure me that things would be okay, but I knew better than to believe that. I did not even think I would ever recover from that heartbreak. My heart was in my throat when I finally tore my gaze from her. By then, Brenda had arrived and was looking at Tim as if he was an angel.
Tim stood there weirdly, then stepped up, "Honey! "He exclaimed, faking excitement.
I rolled my eyes when he pulled Brenda in for a hug and held his breath. He pulled away shortly as if Brenda was a disease he was afraid to catch. He covered that by running his mouth, endlessly, "Beb, I was worried sick about you. I called you a hundred times. What happened? Was the ring was too fancy for you; because I can always go for something in your class if you want? Just tell me okay," Seriously?
Did you guys hear that speech too?
I could not wrap my head around it, so I was stuck in awe for a while. How could Brenda not see through that man? His lies, his disdain, his fake love-which he had not even said himself. I could not do it. I could not make her open her eyes.
I looked towards Stacey and exhaled when I saw shock written all over her face. I was relieved because Brenda now had an objective third party who would help her kick Tim out.
