I ran with all my might while holding the flashlight tightly. At that point, it barely sufficed because it was flickering all over. But I held on to it anyway. I knew I would need it when I sat down to take a breath-Which I needed badly. I think I had been going for an hour without breathing enough. It was a good thing the trees were tall so, no branches were interfering with my face during my super speed race.

I had no idea where I was going. Even if I did get to the other end of the forest, how would I connect with the world? How was I even going to find that man? What was his name again?

Barry? Slogan? Jay ah!... Everything went dark.

Hours later

"Come out-come out wherever you are." That was the first thing I heard when I woke up. I was confused, and at first, I thought we were playing hide-and-seek with someone, but the vibe was creepy. I quickly recollected my scattered memories, and It dawned on me that I was escaping from Tim and his malign plans. I looked up, but their light almost blinded me. " Andrea!!!!" I clasped both my hands on my mouth to make sure no sound escaped. I was so scared I could not breathe.

"I know you are still here." Tim yelled, and I believe I was the target audience.

" Hey, search every single place in this forest. The raccoon could not have gone far. The others have not seen any sign that Andrea left the forest. So, she has to be around here." Goodness, he had a good hunch. I thought men did not have intuitions? Maybe it is a perk of being a crazy person. I was still hiding flat on the cold ground.

"Man, I need a drink. I should be sleeping, not spending my morning looking for a pig." Was Tim badmouthing me? No wonder he has intuition. Tim was practically a woman. A woman whose anger kept multiplying as he kept thinking of things he was giving up because of me.

"Andrea!" he yelled again. As their lights kept approaching, I wanted to get up and run, but I was so scared that I prayed for the earth to swallow me. I knew it was impossible, but hey, I had the wildest dream. "So we are clear, I am not on the phone. I am calling you." Tim continued yelling, but this time, they were heading in the other direction.

That was my chance to hide well.

I forced myself to my butt, and my head pounded like a son of a gun from the movement. I could feel his footsteps approaching.-Lots of them. It was like he threatened the whole town to search for me. Oh god, he was getting to me. Where is my flashlight?

"Andrea, let us make a deal, if you come out, and I will take you to your mother." I rolled my eyes. What an old, desperate man; Trying to use my mother to smoke me out? I did not have a mother. Everybody knows that.

"Fine. How about; if you come back, I will not kill your boyfriend?"

He was bluffing again. There was no way he would get Edgar.

I stayed still. I saw flashlights all over and shrank.

"Boys, let us go back. Bring him to me." I heard them drag someone, and my eyes popped. Did he have Edgar? The muffled cries only piqued my curiosity to the point where I had to look. So, I peeked, and it was the worst move I could have ever made because Tim and his men made me. We both were uncertain of our next step, so he decided to stop chasing. Instead, he had me crawling to him.

Tim signaled for them to stop moving before he started his game, "I also want you to bring me whoever helped her escape. Round up all people who worked the wedding, kill them one by one until you find the responsible traitor. Then, kill them twice. But I get to kill this one!''

''Yes, boss!'' His robots chorused. Then there was a struggle as if someone had escaped. I thought Edgar had escaped until Tim said words that tore my heart into pieces,
