"Guess what, Habiba?" Karim grinned.

"What?" Habiba arched a brow as she picked up her plate of food.

"Nicky's coming here in 3 days with his family."

The plate fell from her hands and broke instantly.

"Habiba!" Karim quickly pulled her away from the broken glass.

"What do you mean he's coming here?! I'm not ready to meet him. I haven't slept for days. I look like a zombie and I have so much to do!" Habiba frantically  exclaimed.

"First of all. You don't look like a zombie. You look like an ogre all the time." Karim snorted.

Habiba glared at him.

"Secondly, what's the big deal? It's just Nicky. When you two get married, he'll have to accept your zombie and ogre self 24/7."

Habiba frowned at him.

"Also. You forget you're a princess. Why are you stressing so much for a job that gives you an eighth of your allowance each month?"

"Because I love my job. I won't be taking any allowances after I get married. I need a way to survive."

"That's a conversation with dad I'd like to be present for."

"He'll understand."

"You act like you don't know the old man."

"It's my life. He can't decide for me." Habiba shrugged.

"Who can't decide for you?"

Both Karim and Habiba jumped slightly at the intrusion.

"Why are you so jumpy?" Tawfiq raised a brow.

"Nothing." Habiba quickly answered.

"O..kay. And oh, Dean is coming in 3 days with the family."

"Yes." Habiba glared at Karim. "I've been informed."

"But why so early?" Habiba groaned.

"Because dad and Uncle Dean can't wait to see each other probably. You're lucky it's 3 days. They could have already have been on their way."

"So you're doing it for yourself? What about me?" Habiba cried out.

"Don't listen to this loner. But I'd think you'd want to meet your future husband soon."

"Not when I look so dead."

"You can fix that. Take some days off. I could tell the hospital director..."

Habiba narrowed her gaze at him.

"The man is scared of me because of you, dad. Don't you dare say anything to him. I'll ask him myself."

"I didn't tell him to be scared of you."

"Well, whatever you told him made him scared. So stop doing it."

"Princess, I'm on your side here."

Habiba closed her eyes and exhaled.
She walked into her father's hold.

"I know, dad. I know. And I love you so much for that but I need you to let me do just a bit on my own."

"Okay, princess. I'll try."

"Women." Karim mumbled.

"You're just jealous you don't get hugs from dad."

"Ew. I'd never want to hug him."

"Keep telling yourself that, Karim."

"I will. I will." Karim scrunched his face in disgust as he tried to walk out of the kitchen only to bump into Zaira.
