CHELSEA GROOVE SHOOK HER DAUGHTER AWAKE WHILE STILL KEEPING HER EYES ON the road. She could hear her groan and shift uncomfortably on the passenger seat but the mother wasn't having it.
"Come on Lily," she laughed, using the last tactic to wake her daughter up - tickling. It worked because within a second, Ambrosa Duchet was up and awake, grumbling at the town they drove into.
"What's up with the colouring of the town?" Rosa pointed out, furrowing her brows on noticing the subtle but also not so subtle colouring of the mansions, complexes and cottages. They crossed the typical rich neighbourhoods with lavish front yards and fountains along with the simple storey houses with excellent plantations and down-to-earth residents.
Straughting her ginger hair, Rosa slouched back into the seat of their Jeep wrangler grumbling, "I didn't want to move here,"
"Sure, I'll drive you right back to that cheater of a father you have," Chelsea shrugged.
"Oh god no, I'll stop complaining," said the ginger, raising her arms in the air as a sign of surrendering.
"Just imagine this as one of your typical rom-com movies and shows. You know, new girl, hot guys-"
"What if I like girls?"
"Fair point. Let me correct myself: new girl, hot love interests, mean bully you have to take down," the mother continued, making Ro crack a grin.
"There's that smile,"
"Yeah, yeah, just drive," laughed the Duchet, plugging her earphones into her ears to drown herself into some music to uplift her moods. She looked out the window, watching the houses, market square, schools, and everything in their way. She couldn't help but notice how similar the town looked to the ones in Hallmark movies during Christmas time - and it was spring.
