Maze Runner (Thomas x reader)-fem

(2) one known thing

(A/N: idk what the party thing they had in the movie was called so im just gonna call it a celebration or something idk, you probably get what im talking about if i call it things like that.ALSO im making the gladers have huts in this au/fan fic instead of just having hammocks cause think its better ;) )

it was around 9 am the next day when you saw the Greenie come out of his hut, he looked toward you and you smiled and waved to him, he waved back to you and walked toward Newt who he had obviously become closer to during the time he was with him yesterday. 

you continued working on the structure you were going to light up in flames later for the celebration with the builders and chuck. As you were fixing a piece of it at the bottom you looked ahead of you and saw the Greenie sitting near Newt and one of the other gladers who were chopping the roots of a tree stump.

-GREENIES POV-

he was starring at y/n while she was working on some structure that looked a bit like an art piece or a statue of some kind. he was just sitting there admiring her while she worked on it when she look towards him and she had a slight smile when she noticed him watching her, he looked down to his hands hoping she didn't think he was creeping for watching her work. 

"Why is Y/n the one in charge?" he asked curiously, Newt thought for a moment before responding ," Well, it's like you have heard, yeah? Every month, the Box sends up a new arrival. But someone had to be first, right? Someone had to have a whole month in the Glade, alone. That was Y/n." Newt continued "she knows what shes doing, i mean shes kept everyone here in one piece. that would be pretty damn hard since some of the boys don't like the fact they have to listen to a girl". Greenie had accepted that answer and started to help Newt and the other glader with the tree roots.

A couple hours later the Greenie was with chuck when he started to walk off  "Dude, where are you going?" Chuck asked slightly concerned "I just wanna see." Greenie said back not really listening to chuck "You can look around all you want but you better not go out there." Chuck stated,  "Why not? What's out there?" Greenie asked, "i don't know. I just know what I'm told. And we're not supposed to leave." Chuck answered just as two people jogged out of where Greenie was slowly walking towards.

 "Hey, Chuck. New Greenie, huh? How does it feel to be promoted?" one of them asked, "Feels great, Ben.". "I thought no one was to leave." Greenie said a few seconds after the two boys ran past. "i said we're not allowed to leave. They're different, they're runners. They know more about the maze than anyone.", "Wait, what?" Greenie said confused, "What?", "What? You just said 'maze'.", "I did?", "Yeah." with that last word coming out of Greenies mouth he started walking closer to what he now knew as a 'maze'.

"Where are you going? What are you doing?" chuck said starting to panic, "I'm just gonna take a look." Greenie replied, "i told you, you can't. No one leaves, especially not now. It's not safe." chuck said still panicked, "Okay, all right, I'm not go-" He was cutt off by being thrown to the ground "Hey!" Gally yelled,  "We stop meeting like this, Greenie." Gally said again while leaning over the boy.

"Don't touch me!" the boy said trying to hit Gally out of the way while getting up. "Whoa! Take it easy! Just relax." Gally said trying not to get hit, "What the hell is wrong with you guys?" Greenie asked now confused and angry "Just calm down, all right?" Newt said in attempt to calm him down, "No, okay? Why won't you tell me what's out there?" Greenie said in the same tone as before, "We're just to protect you. It's for your own good." Y/n says trying to make the boy understand, "You guys can't just keep me here." the boy continued.

"I can't let you leave." Y/n spoke once again, "Why not?" the boy was cut off by the big doors to the maze clunking closed. "What the hell?" the boy said less angry and more scared of whta was happening, "Next time, I'm gonna let you leave." Gally said glaring at him and walking away.

-TIME SKIP- NORMAL POV-

it was  now dark and around 10 pm. Y/n, chuck and the builders had finished the structure a couple hours ago, "alright boys! light it up!" Y/n yelled and a few of the boys lit the structure on fire while others whistled and cheered, "GLADERS! GLADERS! GLADERS!" most of the boys and Y/n started chanting. a little while later people were gathered around a circle where gally was wrestling few other gladers one at a time, when Greenie had accidentally bumped into him.

"what do you say, Greenie? wanna see what your'e made of?" Gally said challenging the new glader to a match, most the gladers had started chanting for him to try it out "GREENIE! GREENIE! GREENIE!" this is when y/n really started to pay attention to the wrestling matches, wondering if the boy she was so fascinated by could beat the all time winner.

"The rules are simple, Greenie. He tries to push you out of the circle", Gally cuts y/n off by finishing her sentence for her "you try to last more than five seconds." Y/n rolls her eye at the way Gally finished her sentence and chuckles a little bit.

Gally and the Greenie had started wrestling and Gally had one the first round and Greenie had looked a little knocked around and took a second to recalculate everything "c'mon, Greenie. were not done yet" Gally said teasing his opponent, "Stop calling me Greenie." "Stop calling you that? What do you wanna be called? Shank? What do you think, boys? Does he look like a Shank?" Gally said teasing him once again in a taunting tone "You know what? I think I've on Shank."

As Gally said those last few words 'Shank' started to run at him but was quickly slammed to the ground hitting his head on the rough dirt earning a load of "oohs" and "ahhs" from the gladers. he was trying to refocus just as he remembered one crucial thing....

"Thomas..." he whispered to himself "Thomas" he said louder and the gladers could here this time, he stood up and yelled "Thomas! My name! its Thomas!" everyone was silent for a couple of moments until y/n had cheered "THOMAS!!" as she had moved closer to him and gave him a hug. Quickly the other gladers followed her lead and cheered his name and hugged him as well.
