So...apparently there's this big old thing where people are talking about how much Eliza was a pushover.
I'm sorry...

I'm going to be putting points in to defend our dearest, Eliza Hamilton. A.K.A Why Eliza Is The Best Mother;Wife;Sister;Person
1. She wrote to Washington telling him to send Alexander back home because she wanted to tell him she was pregnant in person, and Alexander got mad at her.
"I'm not sorry." -Eliza; That Would Be Enough
2. At the end of Non-stop, when Alexander sings, "I am not throwing away my shot, I am not throwing away my shot-" and so on, he rips away from Angelica and Eliza, but he did it much more harsh to Eliza. Eliza knew that he had a thing for her sister, yet she kept loving him. No, not because she was a pushover, because LOVE WAS A CHOICE TO HER.
"If your wife could share a fraction of your time, if I could grant you peace of mind, would that be enough?" -Eliza; Non-Stop
3. In Take A Break, when Eliza comes into the room, Alexander hides the letter he was writing Angelica. The one where he writes, 'My dearest, Angelica'. That's next level betrayal crap. Then, Eliza proceeds to beatbox for her child. She's extremely supportive. Then, all she wants is her husband to go on vacation with them. Not to mention the "You and I can go when the night gets dark" WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE BUT NO. He just HAS to say no to that.

4. And here's one of the biggest things that make me mad when people say Eliza's a pushover. The entire song of Burn and First Burn. Have you ever really listened to the lyrics? She's done. She decided that it's over. She gave him chance after chance and she's had it.

Her sisters died, her son died, her husband died, yet she still was able to interview every soldier who fought with Alexander, raised funds for the Washington monument, speaks out against slavery and for womens rights, established the first private orphanage in New York, and created a Society for Widows with children because she understood the struggle they were going through. I'm sorry, but HOW IS ELIZA A FREAKING PUSHOVER? I just don't get it.
