Atlas's P.O.V
I don't remember much from that day, so much happened that it's hazy. But I remember running through the forest, desperately trying to get away, my hand clutched my side to keep my wound from bleeding out. My vision was getting blurry, but I kept running. I had to, I refused to go back there, and if I got caught now. I would never get this chance again. If I was caught, I would never even be alone again. My father would surely have someone watching me at all times. This had to work, but already things weren't going to plan, I was injured and it was hard to stay conscious. I ran and ran, I didn't dare look behind me.
Because of my blurry vision I couldn't see the hill in front of me, until I felt the ground recede under my feet as I fell down the steep hill, hitting my shoulder on the way down. On the impact to the ground I could hear my ribs crack, but I didn't feel any pain. I couldn't feel anything, my body had gone numb and I thought it was all over. At least this way, if I died here, I wouldn't have to see my father again.
My body ached as I laid on the ground, death it seemed refused to take me. The ground was hard and cold on my back, but suddenly a noise came through the forest. It had a staticky and broken sound to it. I could vaguely hear footsteps running towards me, followed by shouting. I couldn't understand what was being said, and my vision refused to focus. The only thing I could make out was a shadow before the world went black.
