"P-Pardon?" I managed to blurt out. Halatang halata ang aking pagkalito.
He only smiles and beams, at tumingin sakin ng sincero, "Sol, would you like to perform for the Valentine's event with my band?"
And with that, lumaki ang aking mata. You know Jungkook's iconic 'jungshook' photo? Yeah, I look like that. Oh, and I look like a tomato, again.
"I-I... U-Uhm... would love to, pero 'di ata ako... Uh... I'm not confident singing in front of a crowd." I stutter, nagiinit mukha ko, nahihiya. Nahihiya dahil sa pagkanta ko sa kaniyang harapan, at pag request niya sa akin sa kaniyang banda.
"Come on! You'll be the talk of the campus pag kumanta ka." He said.
"I-I'm not so sure about that..." Pahiya kong pagsabi.
Nathan sighs, he grabs my hand and put it between his hands. Right there, on my spot, natunaw ako.
"Sol," Sabi neto na may pagka-seryoso.
"You have the voice of an angel. At kung sinasabi mong nagbibiro ako, I can tell you everybody'll be captivated by your voice. And I know I just heard you sing earlier, but I'm sure we'll be so lucky to have you." He finishes.
Natuwa ako, thankful rather. Thankful kasi he was giving me another opportunity in my life na baka someday, I'll hit it off real good. But... The problem is, I'm scared.
"I would be honored, Nathan. Pero I've performed in the past na nakasira sa pagkabata ko." I explain. "The littlest mistake I made, has made a big part of my life a living trauma."
"What do you mean?"
"I... I was depressed..." Pag-amin ko.
He was shocked, "I'm so sorry to hear that."
I smile, "It's fine, I promise."
He smiles too. And like a light bulb lit up above his head, he spoke, "Hey, alam kong you've been through a lot. Depression is such a big problem to one being, and... I'd like to help you."
