Bucky Barnes One Shots

Insecurities

"Are they back?" You ask Sharon as you walk into the compound's kitchen.

"Not yet, jeez," Sharon rolls her eyes and shakes her head. "I don't know how Bucky deals with you being so clingy."

"W-what? I'm not clingy..," you furrow your brows as a lump forms in your throat.

"Are you kidding me? You're always with him. Always hanging off him. And when he's away on a mission you're insufferable. God, he probably feels relieved when they're on missions just so he can get away from you," Sharon snickers and walks past you; bumping her shoulder into yours as she leaves the kitchen.

Sharon and Steve have been dating for about a year and a half now; while you and Bucky have only been dating for seven months. She always makes you feel like you're less than the other avengers because you were brought in by Tony for your hacking skills, rather than having any kind of special powers, or being a S.H.I.E.L.D agent first.

Wanda walks into the kitchen, heading to the fridge, but as her eyes catch yours she stops. You quickly wipe a tear that escaped your eye, and you try your best to swallow down that lump in your throat. You didn't want to prove Sharon right; you didn't want to look weak.

"Y/N? What's wrong? Are you hurt," Wanda moves to you quickly, looking over your face.

"N-nothing, I'm fine, Wanda, I'm alright," You sniffle and wipe your face while failing to convince her that you're okay.

"No you're not, Y/N. What happened? You might as well just tell me, 'cause I can find out even if you don't." Wanda lifts her hand and her signature red glow flows between her palm and fingers.

"It's just, I..," You take a deep breath and start again. "Sharon was here before you, and I asked if the guys were back yet, and she went on like a rampage about how I'm too clingy with Bucky and he's probably annoyed with me every time I'm with him."

Wanda's eyes glow red for a moment, but she takes a deep breath and blows it out slowly, calming herself. She takes your hands in hers and smiles at you, then she lifts her right hand to gently wipe your tears away.

"Y/N, Bucky doesn't think that at all. Sharon is a snobby bitch. She just likes belittling other people because it makes her feel better about all her own insecurities. The guys will be back soon, and you can ask Bucky himself. He loves you, and loves being around you. Don't let that stuck up bitch make you cry."

Wanda pulls you into a tight hug, softly rubbing you back to comfort you. The two of you change the subject, and make small talk as you sip on the water bottle you originally came into the kitchen to get. Wanda is prepping her famous paprikash. You loved it when Wanda cooked; she is truly talented in the kitchen. She's even been able to teach Vision some recipes. You think they have a thing for each other, but don't have any solid proof... yet.

"They're back!" Bruce calls as he passes the kitchen, heading to the elevator to meet the team on the landing pad.

"Well go, sweetie. Trust me, he missed you," Wanda smiles and waves her hand as to shoo you out of the kitchen which causes you to quietly laugh.

"Yes ma'am!" You smile at her, then hop off of the stool you had been perched on.

You quickly catch up with Bruce as you jog down the same hallway he had just walked down, and the two of you ride the elevator up to the roof. You and Bruce really didn't know each other. He mostly kept to himself and spent most of his time in his lab. The times you did interact with him Bruce he had always been very kind to you. It never really felt awkward in the silence with him; it was just a mutual understanding that he was an introvert and didn't have anything against anyone.
