You never did like the city. Any city, really.

They felt too crowded. Too many people cramped in small spaces. That died include all the animals either. The sounds were loud. The people were annoyed.

But you were here. Looking at it from your new office.

Elise: Excuse me, sir?

You turned around to find your new assistant waiting by the door.

After the interview you gave her, you decided to hire her. She seemed like a good kid with a good head on her shoulders. Besides, you felt a strange kind of connection to her. That never happened, so you figured you'd keep her around for a bit.

Y/N: Yes?

Elise: I have those papers you asked for.

You smiled.

Y/N: You can just set them on my desk. I'll go through them in a moment.

Elise just nodded and set the files down on your desk. She looked at you as you stared off into the distance. As if you were mapping out the entire city with just your eyes.

Elise: Sir?

Y/N: Yes?

Elise: You have that conference later, yes?

You nodded.

Elise: Would you like for me to....

Y/N: You don't need to do anything, Elise. And you don't have to call me sir. Just Y/N.

Elise silently nodded.

Elise: Understood.

You turned and looked at her. You then smirked.

Y/N: And you don't have to be so proper. You're my assistant, not my slave. Honestly, just treat me like another coworker.

Elise: Okay. Will do, Y/N.

You smiled.

Y/N: Now, if you'll excuse me, I do have a conference to get ready for.

Darkest
Hearts

You approached the office of your half sister, not expecting a warm welcome at all, as you fixed your tie.

You hated this. This going around pretending to give a damn about this business and the people who ran it. But you needed a cover. You needed to make waves large enough that even Fisk would notice.

And that all started here.

You reached the door and knocked.

Morgan: Come in.

You opened the door and walked right in. Morgan must've been excepting her secretary, cause her smile dropped when she saw you.

Henry, on the other hand, smiled wider.

Henry: Hey, look at you. You clean up nicely.

Y/N: Thank you.

Morgan said nothing as she got up. She then began to walk past you.

Morgan: The tie is too much.

She left the room, leaving you and Henry alone. You stood there for a moment before Henry placed a hand on your shoulder.
