Despite the fact that Hamilton got his debt plan through to the congress, he still seemed gloomy, like something was weighing him down.
His uncommonly dull posture was making the two southerners feel guilty. They knew exactly why he was feeling down and they were feeling the repercussions of not stopping Peggy.
But something else was on their minds..
"We should help France!" Jefferson shouted. "They helped us didn't they!"
"Yes but we are not financially stable enough for another revolution!" Hamilton defended.
In the end, Washington agreed with Hamilton, like always, but for some reason, his smug smile just didn't annoy Jefferson this time around.

"I don't want to do this anymore Peggy!" Lafayette exclaimed as he slumped onto the couch. It was now 1798, almost 9 years since the plan started.
"Why not?" Peggy furrowed her eyebrows, they were so willing to do this at first, what changed their mind.
"Because, Peggy, we're sick of having to hate our friend." Mulligan reasoned.
"But I thought you did hate him?" the woman asked, confused.
"No we don't!" Lafayette defended himself and his friend.
"Oh" Peggy didn't have anything else to stay.
They stayed in that uncomfortable silence for a few minutes until Mulligan spoke up.
"Where's your quills?" Mulligan sighed.
"The drawers beside the fireplace." Peggy directed. But she failed to specify which one, so the man ended up opening the top drawer, where her sister's invite sat. Curious, Mulligan picked the letter up.
"'To my dear sister Peggy.'" he read out. Peggy's eyes went wide when she realised what letter he had grabbed.
"Wait-" but it was too late, the nosy man had already started reading the letter aloud.
"I am writing this letter as my family and I get ready to spend the summer up at our parents' residence at upstate Albany. I wish for you to join us there with your own family as I have not seen you since you married your husband who I have yet to meet." Mulligan read from Eliza's neat, curly handwriting. "We will be leaving on the 11th day of this month and will most likely be there in 2 weeks. Whether you would like to leave at a similar time or earlier or later is up to you. I hope to see you soon. Your sister, Eliza."
"This was written on the 8th of May, 1792." Mulligan looked up at Peggy. "You said they didn't invite you."
"Well I-" Whatever witty remark Peggy was about to say stopped in her throat.
"You lied to us." Lafayette, who was quiet during the whole conversation spoke up.
"I uh-" Peggy started to stutter, but she gave up on defence.
"Yes" she concluded. "I did lie to you."
"I've heard enough." Lafayette stood up and walked to the door with Mulligan following behind him.
"Goodbye Peggy. I hope to never see you again." Mulligan coldly bid goodbye as he closed the front door behind him.
After the conversation, Peggy sat stunned for a few minutes. But soon misery settled in and hot tears ran down her face.
"What have I done." she whispered to no one, not even herself.
Despite her misery, she thought this would be the only hiccup in the plan.
But this was a gigantic hiccup, how would she continue?
"I guess it's just myself now." the woman concluded. The thick fog of cruelty still clouded around her conscience.

Alexander sat on his office chair, he couldn't bare to look at his wife. This strange gesture worried Eliza, her husband would usually confidently look her in the eye while speaking.
"There's something I've been meaning to ask you.." Alexander started, finally looking at Eliza, she nodded to tell him "go on".
"There's been... rumours, about me embezzling." this sparked a hot thunder of anger through Eliza's veins.
"What!? Why would they accuse you of that?"
"I am honestly not sure but I have an idea on how to fix this.."
"What is it?"
"It's called.."
