"Aaaarrrggg"I growl as I lift up a heavy pot."Hugh!Hugh!Hugh!"I carry it to where Halousa tells me to.I am a slave.A three year old slave.Nobody here likes me.Except for Aya.She is 6 years old.I've known her since I was two years old.She came to help me With the pot,but Halousa yelled,"Aya!Leave Ranna alone! She must learn to do it Herself!"
That night,I got out of my bed,aka a giant rock, and I went to Aya's,which was right next to mine."Aya!" I whispered."Aya wake up!" Then her eyes snapped open."What's wrong Ranna?" I couldn't wait to live a better life.Especially with Aya."I'm escaping and I want you to come with me" her eyebrows frowned as her lips smiled."Ranna,I can't.I walk kind of slow. And they'll think that it's a bigger situation if there are two slaves missing.Just find the right
direction and walk that way.I know that you will find a better place.Ranna, you are so brave, but you need to leave me here.I am so proud of you." Then her eyes fluttered shut. Then I began to sneak out.
I found a direction that looked safe.So I ran that way.I ran in the dark until I was out of breath. The sun was beginning to peak out from the mountains.I just kept walking. It was still pretty dark. Then,I saw a village. There were two rivers on each side, but they were a lot smaller than the Nile. The sun reminded me that it was a new day.It is my birthday.I am turning four. The sun was almost fully in the sky. Some people started to come out of their houses. Then,I fell into a little tree,or a bush. One person heard."Is there somebody there?"she said. I peaked my head out.She notices my ripped up dirty clothes "Are you lost?"She asked. Then I quietly replied,"I escaped" She gasped and said that she would take care of me."I am Ora." She said."I am Ranna." "Well Ranna, welcome to Mesopotamia"she said. She grabbed my hand and led me to her house, which happened to have an extra room. She made me a mat out of cloth, hay, and feathers. When she finished,I lie down on it.It was the softest thing I have ever felt.I was so happy. No more Halousa,no more slavery,no more stone bed.I'm so glad I found Mesopotamia. And I am so glad that Ora around me.
