"We need to talk." Shinobu had texted him.
What did she want to talk about? Giyu felt like he knew already but even so...he wasn't sure, Shinobu could be unpredictable. Perhaps this was finally it? He'd done some thinking the past few days and had come to the realization that he didn't love her. Not like that, at least. Perhaps all he felt for Shinobu was mere admiration.

Giyu dreaded the long walk to Shinobu's place. Was he ready to let her go? Granted, she hadn't been the best girlfriend out there but everything he'd done up until now had been for her. It had all been to get with her and to just throw it all away? It would mean he'd have lost his friends, he'd have lost Y/n, all for nothing.

But at least he wouldn't have to be around her any longer. He knew she wasn't good for him but he was still by her side at all times. Maybe after this was all over, he could properly apologize to Y/n and all his friends? Yeah, that sounded nice, going back to how things were was something he longed for.

Finally, he arrived. He knocked on her door, not having to wait long as Shinobu opened the door and told him to come inside. Giyu walked in, hands slightly shaking, and took a seat on one of the chairs nearby.
"What did you want to talk about?" Giyu asked.
Shinobu sighed.
"I'll get straight to the point. We should break up." She said.
Giyu was expecting this but still felt like he was about to break down.
"Can I ask why?" He sighed.

Shinobu rolled her eyes.
"I don't love you, okay? You're just so annoying, it gets on my nerves. Plus, I was mostly just using you to make Douma jealous," Shinobu smirked.
"It worked."

Now that, he did not expect.
"Well, he did always make me uncomfortable. I can see why now," Giyu stood up.
"For your information, I didn't actually love you either. It must've been admiration or something but definitely not love. Even so, I'm ashamed that I used to admire someone as disgusting and manipulating as you." Giyu said, heading toward the door.

Shinobu scoffed.
"You're just saying that because you're hurt that I broke up with you." She said.
Giyu laughed.
"I'm not, really. If anything, you're doing me a huge favor so thank you." Giyu said, looking back at his now ex.
Shinobu glared at him, irritation visible on her face.

"I'll get going now, thanks again." Giyu spoke but stopped shortly after hearing Shinobu speak once again.
"You're going back to them, aren't you? Your friends will probably forgive you but that L/n, they won't. Not after what you did to them. You'll come back crawling to me soon after, I can tell. But unfortunately for you, I. Don't. Like. You."

Giyu spared Shinobu a glance before looking at the doorknob in his hand.
"Unfortunately for you, I'd rather die before I ever came back to you for anything," He twisted the doorknob.
"Goodbye, Shinobu." He opened the door and left.

It was finally over. Now, he just had to make it up to Y/n however he could. But first, he needed someone's help.

That someone was Sabito.

Fun fact: "Perhaps all he felt for Shinobu was mere admiration." Was a reference to chapter 3 when Tanjiro says "You're confusing love with admiration" Foreshadowing 😏
