Sabito felt conflicted. He was the one who had said that he wasn't going to try anything with Y/n, that they deserved someone better. That someone being Giyu, although he was a piece of shit.

He felt so stupid for saying that. He wanted to be selfish for once and have Y/n all to himself, whether that be by severing ties with his long time friend, Tomioka. But even so, his kind hearted nature wouldn't allow him.

Sabito wanted so bad to just have something for himself for once in all of his goddamn life. But he just...he couldn't. He supposes that when he took Y/n's happiness into consideration, he decided to not be selfish. If he didn't get to have them to himself, to call them 'his', as long as they were happy then that was fine.

Even if he fell into a deep depression in which he couldn't get up from bed no matter how hard he tried, as long as Y/n was happy, then so be it. That's how his life would be and he didn't care.

He waited at a cafe for Giyu to arrive so they could talk. He did some thinking with the time he had. Sabito had never thought of himself as a bad person. He always wanted the best for everyone, even for those who didn't deserve it. But things were different when it came to Y/n L/n. They brought out things from him that he wasn't even aware of. Things like hatred, selfishness, and jealousy. Most of all, jealousy of his once best friend, Giyu Tomioka.

Sabito was so jealous of him. He had a chance to date Y/n, kiss them, hug them, do everything with them and yet he took it for granted, leaving Sabito to pick up all the broken pieces of his love's heart. He just couldn't accept any of it. He didn't want to. But yet, here he was, now talking to Giyu who had finally arrived on how to win Y/n back.

Perhaps this was all fate's own cruel way of telling Sabito that this wasn't for him, that this life wasn't for him, that he didn't deserve to be happy, and most of all:

That Y/n was never meant to be his in the first place.
