"You got everything?" I call over my shoulder as Hope loads her bag into the trunk.

"I'm pretty sure. The tent's packed, and we didn't bring much." She answers.

I nod and glance up at the gray early morning sky.

We had to leave at 6:00 AM so we could get back at around 2:00.

And trust me, even an air mattress is much more inviting than brisk morning air and the promise of an eight hour drive with precisely four breaks.

"Mia."

Honestly though, I don't really mind, I like road trips as long as there's music.

"Mia!"

It really is cold out, I should have brought more sweaters...

"Mia!" Hope snaps her fingers in front of my face and I jerk out of my thoughts.

"Yeah? What?"

She groans. "I said, do you know where Brian keeps the spare tire."

"He doesn't keep spares."

She blows out a breath. "Well, then it looks like we're spending some more time out here than we planned. Because both car's-"

"Truck!" Brian hollers.

She rolls her eyes. "Car and truck's, tires are blown. We ran over some sharp rocks  and completely busted all the wheels. And of course, neither of those idiots keep anything I could use to repair them."

"Let me guess, we don't have any signal either?"

"Nope."

I sigh. "Ok."

"You seem very calm about this.' She says, raising an eyebrow.

" Oh, trust me. Once I wake up fully, I'm going to freak. "

She smirks. "That makes more sense." I swat her arm and she just laughs.

"So, we're stuck here with two idiots and a pair of useless vehicles..."

"Mhm"

"With no way to contact anyone..."

" Yep"

"And we don't know when our suppliers will run out?"

"That would be right."

I blow hair out of my face. "Nice to get out of the house sometimes, eh?"

She cracks a real smile. "Yeah."
