Chuuya's Discovery

CHAPTER 3/4: Life flashes in your eyes before you die.

People said, before death comes, life flashes before your eyes.

In the depth of Chuuya's subconscious state, he is having a peculiar dream. A flashback of his unusual moments with the other teen.

He's like watching a three dimensional movie where he could clearly see and feel the scenario whilst floating through the air and remembering every single detail out of these different memories and what makes it significant to his life.

The first scene of his flashback was his first time being in Dazai's apartment. There's a new mission assigned to them but he can't find his partner. Chuuya tried to call Dazai several times but the brunet didn't answer. Tried texting him but no reply. So, to cope with the job order, and with his guts dictating him to check out his partner, he decided to trace Dazai's address and went there as quickly as possible. Ransacking Dazai's apartment not even bothering to knock is rude to say but considered as blessing in disguise. Due to Chuuya's terrible etiquette, he accidentally discovered Dazai's suicide attempt. The brunet was a few seconds away from his demise. The brunet already hanged himself but due to the latter's quick reaction, Dazai got revived swiftly as he is not yet destined to die. Luckily though, Chuuya's unexpected arrival prevented him from seeing the gates of hell.

He cut the rope.

Catches Dazai in his arms.

Giving him another life.

" What the hell dude! Are you out of your mind?!" Chuuya scolded him, panicking like a mother to a wounded child.

"Thanks to you, I have to suffer again in the land of the living " Dazai responds. But instead of being mad and smacking the other teen, Chuuya gave him a warm embrace. He is glad that he decided to show up at Dazai's place. If he doesn't then Dazai will surely become a cold floating corpse. Surely, being hanged is one easier way to end your life but your corpse after that is not pleasant to see.

This was the moment when Chuuya realized that he needed to protect the other teen from his dark thoughts.

and from his self inflicted tendencies.

That's when the ginger starts to visit the brunet's apartment even though he wasn't invited, especially if his intuition tells him to check out Dazai. Although the brunet is getting annoyed at his presence within his apartment as he is invading his privacy, he insists on having a time to visit him and to make a bond and company.

He doesn't care as long as Dazai is safe from his monsters inside of him.

A flash of white light comes after then he is in another memory of him where Dazai had suffered from a mental breakdown. During one of his surprise visit routines, Chuuya caught the brunet in a devastating state. He is in the bathroom where he cut his wrist with a sharp edge piece of glass blade. Shards of broken pieces of mirrors are everywhere. Blood is dripping to the floor as he is emotionally unstable- yelling to himself and covering his ears like he seems to hear noises and voices that don't exist.

"Leave me alone! Let me die in peace!"" The brunet keeps repeating the words.

"DAZAI! NO!" Chuuya rushes towards him. Dazai slowly looked up to meet his gaze with a tear in his eyes.

"Get a hold of yourself, Dazai!" He yelled while grabbing a towel to wrap the bleeding wrists of him. Dazai tries to stand up but Chuuya stops him. He then collapses at Chuuya's chest. He then wailed out his agony and began to tremble while clutching Chuuya's jacket. Chuuya wanted to hug him tight but he couldn't let out his grip on the bleeding wrists of the brunette. He wanted to cry too because seeing Dazai like these is too painful. His heart is like being shattered into tiny bits just like what happened to the mirror in Dazai's bathroom.
