She wanders in a dark gloomy street,

Following no lead.

She stops and stands still,

And begins to wonder

What is it that breaks my will

And makes me so ill?

Why did it make me sunder?

She screams out loud,

As she realizes it was herself.

It was herself all along,

She broke her vow

To never loose herself.

Letting her fears and self-doubt control her

She does not know anymore what they were.

Her dreams and her passions

 Which once were so strong

And to her heart belonged.

The voices who whisper  in her ear

pushed them back far away

and make her betray

Betray herself.

She gets on her way home

and sees them

lying abandoned and shattered on the ground:

her old pen she wrote stories with,

her favorite movie she used to watch all the time

a picture of the sea and the beach,

which now seem to her like a long forgotten myth.

She wants to reach her pen but does not succeed

It is too far

It is out of reach.

The voices have taken control over her

They have taken the best of her.

She is only a shadow of herself,

Although once she shone strong and beautiful like an elf.

Where once the fires of passion filled her up,

Darkness took its place

And now reigns.
