KARMA TRUDGED DOWN the long, winding gravel road leading to the manor, "peace offering" in hand. Gakushuu should be thankful, he thought, he was lucky enough for him to know his favorite flower, and pick some up on the E-Class grounds.

And if not, his only hope was that the blonde wasn't there yet, and that was quite the far cry. He had eyes everywhere; he reminded himself. He'd find out about this little encounter one way or another. But, if he was lucky enough, Gakushuu wouldn't care.

What reason would he have to care if the intruder of the residence had just almost died trying to assassinate a yellow octopus? He wasn't even sure if that was the reason he'd done that. He himself certainly wouldn't care if that happened to his intruder, except he didn't even have a residence.

Cautiously holding the gate's circular knock, he banged it twice against the 4-inch-wide gold-lined metal grills. There were twenty-two of them, eleven on each side, which he estimated to be fifteen meters long. What? He liked counting.

The gate instantly swung open with some difficulty and a squeak as the familiar face of the strawberry blonde came into view. "For the last time, I do not want a gym subscri- I- Karma?" The redhead pouted, aiming to distract him. "So you don't want m-"

He was, unexpectedly, attacked with a warm hug from Asano.

─ ✦ ─

Karma was sandwiched in warm blazer and the scent of weird foreign cleaner that probably advertised your clothes smelling like lavender on a summer's day. Safe to say, it was true. "Shut up, I care about you," he said. The redhead was unsure whether to hug back or make a snarky remark. Probably both, he decided.

And so Karma put his arms around the other, a small 5'9" creature protecting an even smaller boy at 5"6' from... well, he didn't know.

It felt good anyway.

"Aww, so the great Asano Gakushuu cares about me~" "Shut up, we were having a good thirty seconds before you interrupted," he said, hugging tighter, basically strangling him. "And no, I don't care about you anymore," The blonde walked away, rolling his eyes.

Karma caught up to him. He didn't even know why Gakushuu caring about him mattered so much. "Look, um, it probably doesn't matter now, since you care about me and all-" "I do not," he said, finally looking back. "But continue," he said with a pointed look.

He decided not to make a snarky comment about that.

"Uhhh, I-just- I-" He was messed up, he couldn't be stuttering in front of this guy he could destroy the life of. "Getting tongue-tied, huh?" "I- Just- HERE!" He blushed profusely and shoved a handful of something into his arms.

He held his hand open, five lavender-colored flowers falling out. Their petals lightened at the ends, from purple to blue. It reminded him of a galaxy, gradient and infinite. He instantly recognized them- the Nemophila. His favorite flower, he thought, arms tightening around them in protection and care.

"Aww, Gakushuu look, there's flowers over there!"

Karma didn't really know why, but he suddenly felt jealous of the flowers he had picked.

How had he known it, though? Gakushuu brushed away the thought, smiling. It brought him back to memories, he thought, a feeling of nostalgia washing over him. The redhead seemed to break out of his blush-y, tsundere-ish stance, raising an eyebrow.

"No 'Thank you?'" he said expectantly, crossing his arms in a matter-of-fact manner.

"No," Asano smiled, making his way to the double doors.

Karma was almost positive the other had forgotten about the probable interrogation.

"Oh, and where were you?"

"I-uh, nowhere."

The other sighed, obviously not buying it, but deciding not to press.

─ ✦ ─

The redhead was quite obviously shivering on the floor. The aircon wasn't even on the chorus of its nightly, droning lullaby and it was obvious he wasn't going to survive the night without some sort of heat protection.

Both were visibly awake, Asano's ever-opened eyes staring straight ahead at the now-hoodied figure. ("No, I'm not giving you clothes." "But-") Golden orbs stared at the glass, reflecting the shadow of ghostly violet pools, never-ending, infinite.

The aircon made a loud sound, signaling the chorus of the verses in the temperature. Karma practically jumped, even while putting his curled knees into a ball in the hoodie.

And.
He.
Squeaked.

Squeaked.

Asano couldn't not help him.

"Alright, fine, come here," he said, laying a pillow between the second side of the bed. He squeaked again. Asano sighed, getting down from the bed and practically dragging the Karma-ball, setting him down on the comforter.

He hurriedly placed the duvet over him, still shivering in a ball.

And so, for the nth time of the day, he decided something:
Gakushuu's presence was comforting.
