“Life is short.” At least that was what most people kept on saying. Louis was in no position to disagree. What was once a beautiful girl’s open and twinkling eyes were shut, her heart that once beating for love was slowly fading like the moon in the night sky. A blood dripped from his chin, just about a tear fell from his eyes. He killed the girl he love who brought back humanity in him and helped him see the world at its best.
Memories flashed in his mind—from the day he first met her, to the day she got annoyed because of him, up to the day she said “yes” to be his girl. He smiled bitterly as memories flashed in his mind.
Good times is it, that will never happen again not anymore with another girl. He blinked and went to her side, gently cradling her body against him. For the first time in his inhumane years, he cried.
“Bea,” he whispered, almost as if it was a prayer.
He traced her face ever so gently. It was once pinkish but then turned pale, that he hadn't known she is dead, he'd think she is a vampire – too. For once in his life, he experienced love, the emotion he hid in the darkest abyss of his heart. Yet he was the one who ended it, who ended the life of the girl he loves.
He knew it—that he was damned. There was no way in hell he could do a thing. His soul was burning in hell ever since he was transformed. That cruel day he could remember like glass—a cruel day he was turned, during the period where people believed in witches and such, who killed innocents.
He knew his love was forbidden. The moment he was cursed, for doing something he would regret forever, his love was too. How he wished he never sold his soul to the witch for immortality.
If he hadn’t, then he probably wouldn’t have met the girl, would never experience the happiness that he was able to feel. Also, he would never have felt the pain and misery that came afterwards.
Roses are red and her blood was too,
She lay on the floor, cold and blue,
His stone heart felt as if stabbed by a knife,
For she whom he loved, in his hand lost life.
