Chapter 5

Sujoy's POV

I didn't want to marry at all. I have been flirting around and I don't want to be unfaithful to my future wife. Because I would not want her to be unfaithful to me.

But now my mom was going crazy with this idea of me getting married. Even dad, Sia and Rohit wanted me to get married and in a way they were right, all my friends were settled and I had started feeling awkward while socialising with them.

As they all come with their wives and I go on a random date. Maybe I should agree to what my family wants.

But was I ready to get married to some girl?? Was I ready to commit my loyalty to one girl?

I was so confused... So I left everything on time. I would cross the bridge when I reach it.

Rohit wanted to go back as Sia had to take a rest. I wanted to spend more time with them but she looked tired. So I didn't stop them.

Everyone was just too full to eat dinner so mom and dad retired to their room. I wanted to have an early night too as I could not sleep last night too.

But I had some work to do so I started my laptop and checked the mails first and worked for some time.

Somehow, I felt like eating some more of that amazing cake. So I went to get another piece of it.

I was still eating the tastiest cake ever when my phone started ringing.

I looked at the screen and was surprised to see that Viraj was calling. He was my first cousin. His mom is my mom's real elder sister ( my mausi ). I picked up the call.

" Hi, Viraj! How are you?? " I asked.

" I am good, actually I want you to meet someone. " He said.

" You want me to meet someone? Whom and why?"

" Someone very close to my heart. She is like a younger sister to me."

" But why do you want me to meet her?"

" Have you become dimwit all of a sudden? Why would your family suggest you to meet any girl? Because we want you to settle down now. Do you even know, what people say about you? "

" What? "

" That you chase anything in a skirt. " He said and I laughed.

" So why do you want me to meet a girl who is just like your younger sister. You know my reputation, right? You just enlightened me as well. "

" Because I know you as well as her. You both are very nice people. She is absolutely the opposite of you. And as they say, that opposite attracts, maybe you both like each other as well. "

" Ok, tell me more about her. "

" She is a gem of a person, very sweet, beautiful, looks like a model, about 5'5" tall, decent, sings very well, very talented and what I love the most about her is that she cooks really well. . Viren and Myra are crazy about her cooking and keep telling her to make cakes for them. Trust me... Only I know how important it is that your wife is a good cook." He said with a sigh!

I chuckled at that as I have had the food Maya bhabhi had prepared. I remember that he finished it just to prove that it was not bad and he loved it. He is such a foodie.

I ate another bite of the cake and thought for a second about meeting this girl.

" Ok, I would love to meet her first. I don't want mom to be involved in this or she would start pushing me. " I said.

" I also don't want that. I want just the two of you to meet... At first. " He said but I sensed that he was not telling me something.

" Why am I getting a feeling that you are up to something. " I asked.

" No, I just don't want our moms to grill me to get this marriage fixed as soon as possible. I want both of you to meet first and if you both are comfortable with each other, we will tell our families. "

" Great! So tell me the time and place and I will be there. By the way, how are Maya and the kids? I miss them. "

"Then come over for dinner to my place. " He said.

" Thanks but no thanks, I am not missing them so much. I can't take the torture one more time. "

" No, nowadays Srusti is Preparing the food for all of us as I love her cooking. "

" Srusti? "

" The girl, I want you to meet. " He said.

" Oh, ok! But l think we must meet alone for the first time. "

" Yeah, I will make a plan and let you know. You can take her on a dinner date but don't dare to do anything improper or I will punch you really hard. "

" I never do anything until the girl is more than interested. But I will be more cautious in this case as she is like a family to you. Don't worry, I will be on my best behaviour. " I said.

" Very good. I will call you in a day or two. Bye good night, Sujoy !! "

" Good night, Viraj. "

I said and disconnected the call.

From the very next day, our family friends and relatives started suggesting random girls to my mom. And she wanted me to meet all those girls. She fixed my meeting with one of them and when I came back home, the girl and her family were there. I didn't know what to say. But as I could not think of spending my life with her, I refused to marry her.

The next day mom brought a girl and her mother to meet me in the office, I was just too annoyed. And told dad to send them away. Dad persuaded them to come to our place later on. But there were waiting for me at home when I reached there.

I refused to marry her too. She was not properly educated. So it was easier to refuse in this case.

Then I met two more of them, but I could not stand them even for a minute. All that was getting on my nerves. So I was literally fed up.
