A lot can happen in a block. It hadn't been cold when we left our apartment. I didn't notice until after we started walking back that it was chilling to the bone. It was also windy, not very but just enough to make a newspaper gently slide over the sidewalk. My parents held hands as they walked, which was normal. I walked in front of them, turned around and walking backwards to talk with them. We began to walk past an ally when we saw men in all black loading, some odd canisters full a bright neon liquid, into a van. A few looked at us when we stopped. I tried studying them before we had to start running. They were dressed in all black like I said before and had these bug eyes and red bands on there heads. One man looked us and pointed.
"Get them, they can't know what we're doing here, kill them if you have to." Many of the men started running towards us. My father pushed my mother and I forward telling us to run. We didn't get far before I heard a loud bang and my mother fell the ground. I watched as her head smacked on the curb, I ran to her as my father punch the guy in the face who had made my mother fall. As I bent down to make her stand up and then I noticed the bullet hole in her back. My dad turned back around to see her, he saw the bullet hole too. I shook her and begged her to wake up.
"Dad!" I cried out "She won't wake up." Tears began to build on my eyes. My father plucked my mother from the curb and again told me to run. I could see our apartment building. As I turned to see my dad right behind me I heard another loud bang. My dads face filled with pain. I screamed.
"DAD!!!" He fell forward and dropped my mom.
"Ally!" He mustered out with what he could. (Ally is my mother name.) he grabbed her hand.
"Dad..." Tears flooding from my eyes at this point. I got down on my knees, grabbing his other hand, he held if tight. Looking up at me and tried to speak. At that second I felt something warm on my legs, blood both of my parents blood was pooled around me. Then 4 "men" jumped down from the roof of one of the buildings I couldn't tell which one but they began fighting the men, and with all the men's attention on them I spend my father last minutes with him.
"You mother and I love you very much, and we could be more proud of you. You have to run. Please!" He coughed and blood began to leak from his mouth. His hand fell limp in my hand I kissed his head and my mothers . Grabbing my fathers hand I took his ring and them my mothers shoving them in my pocket, not knowing what would happen next. I put my hands down to push myself up and when I did I noticed the blood turning my hands palms up, that's all I could see, my hands started shaking. As I turned to run, a man was behind me, I was about to punch him when I saw that he wasn't human. He was green and wore a blue mask not to mention he had a shell. I stopped shocked.
"I'm not gonna hurt you. Please, come with me and I can get you somewhere safe." I looked at my parents and back at him. "Please?!" He asked again. His blue eyes were mesmerizing, I nodded. He grabbed me by my waist and scaled the building to the roof. He set me down when we reached the top.
"Stay here, you will be safe. I be right back." He looked down at my hands and legs covered in blood. "Are you hurt?" His eyes worried. I shook my head no, not even bothering to look at him. I just looked at the roof. He jumped down and by the time I ran to the edge of the building he was already fighting men again. I would later learn that these men were members of the foot clan and the liquid they were trying to transport is called Mutagen and it's extremely harmful to humans, animals, and I guess any living organisms. I looked down to see that there were others like him, 3 more to be exact they each wore masks one orange, another red and the last purple.
They all looked alike and that's when I noticed they were turtles.A few minutes later most were on the ground unconscious, 3 or 4 had ran off. I could hear a distant siren on its way and so could the turtles. They looked up at me, sadness in there eyes. My tears kept falling my eyes drawn to my parents. The orange masked turtle spoke up.
"Dude, you saved her. And did what you could lets go." The blue masked one never took his eyes off me. Both the red and purple masked turtles added to the conversation.
"The police are gonna be here in a minute." The purple masked one commented.
"Come on. Let's go." The red added very eager to leave. Then he looked away from me and nodded his head, to the others, and they ran off into the dark. He looked up to me one last time his mask straps blowing behind him and blue eyes piercing, felt like they were looking right through me, he turned and ran into the darkness like the rest. He was gone. I wrapped my arms around myself the air still cool and wind blowing I looked at my parents lifeless bodies surrounded by a huge pool of blood, there hands still together. I stood there on the roof shaking and thinking he never came back up.
