I couldn't believe it. They were gone, my parents were gone. So many things ran through my mind of what I could never do with them again. I wanted to cry but I couldn't, I had cried so much that I would think my tears were gone. That night was still vivid in my mind. It was 3 nights ago, I remember everything including the half turtle, half human guys. Help came after one of the neighbors heard my screams for help and called the police. Tears still streaming down my face, I heard police sirens and so did the turtles. I could barley hear them talking but I could make out some of what they had said.
"Dude, we have to go..." The one in the orange mask said. Still standing in the top of the building, I looked over to the turtle with the blue mask, he kept starting at me. Then the purple masked turtle said what I thought was his name but I couldn't catch it.
"Come on you saved her and did what you could." The blue masked turtle looked away from me and nodded to the others. He looked up to me one last time, his mask straps blowing behind him and he ran off.
I was questioned by the police later as to who saved and I told them I didn't know. Clearly they left before the cops came for a reason. The police told me that it was the Foot Clan who had assaulted me and murdered my parents Assuring me that thanks to those who saved me all involved and caught would be prosecuted and jailed.
Today was my parents funeral, I was so drained physically and mentally. I had been crying for days and couldn't fathom that my parents were...dead. My parents wanted to be cremated and spread together. At the funeral my friend and family came and spoke during the sermon and after to give there biggest condolences to me. I felt pathetic hugging my parents urn, crying terribly. After everything was done my Aunt Mia came home with me to clean everything up and take care of my parents things, that I couldn't handle doing alone. Again I felt pathetic, making my mothers sister go through everything I couldn't, she stayed on the couch and me in my room, my parents room remained open. It sounds stupid but it made me feel like they were there. I locked the balcony door, making me feel more safe knowing nobody could come in that easily. My Aunt left after a few days saying she would take care of everything else like the bills, etc.
A few months after she left I was sitting on the couch, blankly starting at the tv, it was only on for the sound, I wanted to make the apartment feel lively. Out of the corner of my eye I saw movement on the roof tops across the street. My first thought was thieves or robbers. Then a thought came to mind what if it's the turtle guys I had seen before? I got up and walked to the glass window arms crossed. It was them there weapons hung front there shells and there mask straps blew around in the breeze reminding me of that night and for the first time in months I unlocked the door and stepped out on the balcony. It was the first night I had seen them since that night. Not knowing what to do, I waved at them. I wanted to thank them for saving me and stopping the foot. Thanks to them all caught were in prison for 2 counts of murder and 1 count attempted murder. They all waved back, I smiled. Another first, I hadn't done that in a while either. As I went to say something I heard one talk but of coarse I couldn't hear what he said. They began to run off except him he waved at me one more time and then ran off. I walked back inside and locked the balcony door. That night I slept well, not nightmares, no tossing and turning which had been the norm the last few months.
A few nights later as I laid in bed I heard a knocking sound but it wasn't the door to the apartment. Immediately I was scared. Trying to remind myself that the only reason everything went the way it did that night was because we had been in the wrong place at the wrong time but my mind making me more scared reminded me that they may be coming back because I was a witness but then again most were in jail. I shook off my crazy thoughts and got up. Not feeling safe being alone anymore, I bought pepper spray thinking if something did happen and I couldn't take the person down, I would just spray them and run for help. I walked out of my room, down the hall and towards the living room to see nobody was there. Where had the sound come from? Then I heard it again but louder, it sounded like somebody knocking on glass. Glass? We are 20 floors up how could anyone... Then it hit me! The balcony! I looked out the window to see him standing there alone. I ran to the door and unlocked it, unsure of what to say. But I didn't have to talk he did.
