Ariana's Pov

"Baby, have you seen Theo's shoes! He can't find them." I yelled from across the house, my wife was somewhere around here.

Seconds later, she walked in, holding both shoes up. "Myron had them." She chuckled, bending down to give the almost 5-year-old his shoes back.

"Thank you, Mommy." He smiled, wrapping his arms around her neck.

"Mama, when are we leaving for Starbucks?" Gigi sighed impatiently, walking in to collapse on our bed.

Everyone always said she was my twin, and I honestly didn't start believing it until now.

In fact, she pretty much took my entire face. Odessa was mostly Kai, and so was Theo, but he had my lips. Nick resembled both of his parents exactly, just with Billie's eyes.

Safe to say Kai's genetics were relatively strong.

"In a few, I'm helping your brother," I said, getting a groan in return.

"Hey, let's go play outside for a bit while we wait on Mama and Theo. Where's Nick and Odessa?" Kai suggested, peaking Gigi's interest.

"In your closest."

"Not my shoe closet, right?"

"No, they're in that one."

"Wait, what?! Hold on, I'll be back!" And with that, she ran out, heading upstairs.

Gigi and Theo ran upstairs as well to see what was going on, after I finished helping tie his shoes. These past few years had been tough for us, so much of our favorite things had been broken by the four, and it got to the point where we had to keep a lot in New York.

Our Calabasas house was very baby-proofed.

It was very convenient though, all our friends and family lived by and even Billie was next door, so it worked out for the kids.

There was still some kind of awkward tension between us, and I knew it was because deep down she still loved Kai. I wasn't stupid, the way she looked at her showed it all, and how she smiled, the twist of her hair, the—

"Ariana, you've been standing there for ten minutes," Kai said, with a small laugh. "Here, Scooter's calling you." She handed me my phone and I knew exactly what this was about.

"Scooter...hey."

"Ari, have you been dodging my calls?"

"No, I've just been super busy with the kids. I told you." I was lying, of course, I was avoiding him, he was annoying as fuck.

"Alright." He said, but still unconvinced. "Well since you've been 'busy with the kids', I didn't get a chance to get your preference on studio times. So now you have to go in for the rest of the week, I need to see you at your usual in an hour. The label's been begging you for something and I got a new producer there just for you."

"I can't do today, we're doing stuff with the kids."

"This can't wait, I need you there. Your kids will always be there, don't put your career on the line for them." And with that, he hung up.

I sighed, as my wife's attention snapped back toward me. "What happened?" She asked softly, probably noticing I was stressed. "Are they still pushing you for something?"

"We have to cancel today." I got out slowly, watching her look at me weirdly, so I explained the situation. "Scooter needs me there, I don't have a choice. He has everything set up and he's even got some new producer guy there for me."
