Just wanted to say that today I met this girl in my PE that loves Marvel too and it inspired me to write something today. Anyways she's a Swiftie too which is so cool. TAYLOR FANS UNITE!!!

"That's the thing, Peter. I'm done hiding from you. I'm done pretending. I...I like you. And I want you to be my boyfriend." You sigh, tossing the phone on the bed. "Ugh! MJ, I don't know why you thought sending a voicemail to Peter was a good way to tell him I liked him. Who confesses their feelings for their best friend through the phone?"

MJ shrugged, grabbing a chip from the Doritos bag on the bed. "I just thought it was a good idea, Y/N. You were the one who wanted to go through with it."

"I had no idea it would be so awkward! You know what, I'm never going to have the courage to tell Peter that I have a crush on him in person. And plus, even if I do, I might accidentally freak out about his fluffy brown hair that I want to run my fingers through, or his beautiful chocolate eyes, or his lips that I just really wanna ki..." You trailed off as your eyes went to your phone, still on the bed.

"Michelle." You said quietly.

"Hmm?"

"Could you check if the voicemail is still going?"

She picked up your phone, and a slight grin grew on her face. "It is, actually."

A wave of panic surged through you. Jumping up from your chair, you pressed the "end voicemail" button, then the small trash-looking icon. But your clumsy hands were your demise, or maybe you had blinked when you pressed the button. But for some reason, the voicemail had officially...

"...SENT?!" You shrieked, jumping up from your position and immediately falling onto the bed. "CURSE MY FAT FINGERS! Why does this have to happen to me?"

MJ licked her fingers. "Hey, Y/N, calm down. I mean, it could be for the best, you know. Now Peter will know how you really feel about him."

You groaned. "That's a good thing, except I literally talked about his freaking hair and eyes and how I wanted to kiss him! I don't want him to know all of that yet, like this! And now, even if he doesn't like me back, he's going to hate me!"

"That's true." MJ picked up her Chemistry homework, which was what she was doing before she had taken her chip break. "I'm sorry, Y/N. But I guess we've got to see what happens tomorrow."

You feigned a smile, picking up your homework. "That's right. Plus, what could possibly go wrong?"

Apparently, everything could go wrong

Apparently, everything could go wrong.

According to Ned, who you had called the night before asking if Peter was busy, he was right there. They were both building the Lego Death Star together. "Okay, have fun, bye!" You quickly said, hanging up, then immediately chastised yourself for being so awkward.

Sadly enough, your alarm rang the next day at seven in the morning, and you turned it off and wished you could just stay in bed. But obviously, school had to happen. You climbed out of bed and went through all of the getting ready steps, then brushing your hair and trying not to think about Peter. Finally, you packed your backpack and headed out of the room and to the kitchen.

Your parents always left for work earlier than that because of the morning traffic in Queens, so the house was empty. You ate a bowl of cereal as slow as you possibly could without being late, dreading talking to Peter.

After more attempts of getting there as slow as possible, your footsteps had brought you to school. Sighing and anticipating the awkwardness and turn-down, you headed inside.

Every morning, you all would meet in front of Peter's locker. But today, you didn't, heading straight to first period early. It was English, with Mrs. Miller.

"Hi, Y/N! You're here early today!" The kind lady said when you walked into her room.

You smiled back. "Hi, Mrs. Miller. Uh, is it okay if I sit in the back today? One of the non assigned seats?"

She nodded. "Of course. Just let me know if you can't see the board."

"Okay. Thank you!" You take your stuff and sit in the back. Peter usually sat next to you in assigned seating, and that was how the two of you met first. Now you could finally deal with non-awkwardness.

You pulled out your phone, checking your texts. There were a bunch from Ned and a couple from MJ, and just one from Peter.

Peter Paleontologist: can we talk??
stressed and depressed: maybe after english? miller moved my seat because she said she needed more space in front of the board

Like hell you would talk. More like you would book it out of that class.

During the entire period, Peter was glancing at you periodically, totally confused. You, on the other hand, were miserable in the back with no one to talk to except those weird popular football guys who made nasty jokes (no hate against football guys these are just the characters).

When the bell finally rang, you stood up with your pre-packed backpack and rushed out of the room. But for some reason, Peter caught up to you at an abnormal speed, sort of like a superhero.

"Y/N, wait!" Sighing, you turned around. Might as well get over with it.

"Hi," you said nervously, embarrassment lacing the word. Go ahead and make fun of me. Tell me it was weird and you don't wanna be friends anymore. Or you actually liked me until I screwed it up. Of course I did.

"Y/N, I—"

At this point, the nerves got the better of you and you couldn't just keep it in. "PETER I had no idea it was recording and I just said some stuff that I shouldn't have said out loud and I was trying to delete the voicemail but it didn't delete and I didn't know what to do and I knew you were going to tell me you think I'm weird and stupid and you don't like me back and so then I just ignore you—"

"Y/N!" Peter said loudly, making you jump. "You can't just start going to conclusions like that. How would you know how I feel?"

You stared at your feet. "That's because there's no way you'd like me back. That's not how my luck runs."

Peter gave you a smile when you looked up. "But luck can change."

You frowned at him, confused.

"I like you too, Y/N." He said shyly.

It was safe to say that you were shocked. But hey, maybe things in the love department finally took a turn for the better.

This was honestly so fun to write. Anyways if you enjoyed this feel free to vote and comment. I haven't gotten any comments yet and I really would appreciate feedback!
