Chapter 36 - Future Choice and Small Tasks

The next day we all met at Leblanc and watched the news about Medjed's website having the mark of the Phantom Thieves on it and we all were very happy about it. Sojiro looked at us.

"What are you all smiling about?" he asked.

"Something good happened." I said.

"Yeah." Ann said smiling.

"Well stop it, you'll scare off my customers." he said.

Ryuji grinned.

"But there aren't any customers." he said.

"Shut up, my customers are on summer break too." he said grumbling.

We looked up as the door bell rang and Futaba walked in.

"Are you just getting up?" Sojiro asked smiling.

She nodded.

"Good morning." Makoto said.

Futaba became a bit spooked by them and hid behind me. We all decided to go up to my room and discuss about what to do. Especially discussing about the Desires Gamble. Futaba was waiting for the right time to eat her noodles.

"Ren, what did it feel like to have wings?" Ann asked me.

"To be honest, I'm not sure. I felt all the power I did already have thanks to Shadeon as well as my own, converge inside me. It made me feel warm. To be honest it was kinda strange." I replied. "It also felt..."

"Felt?" Yusuke asked.

I tried to think of the proper word to describe what I felt when that energy built up inside me. It felt like something else was there aside my personas and Shadeon. It made me feel uneasy. I tried to convey this to the others.

"Uneasy?" Ryuji asked.

"Yeah, I have no idea though so I think drinking this so carelessly would mess me up somehow." I said.

Futaba had gotten up and returned. The noodles smelled really tasty even Shadeon and my personas were drooling a bit.

"That smell..." Yusuke said.

"Hey...C-can I snag a bite?" Ryuji asked her.

She just tossed him a stare that clearly said no.

"Meanie." Ryuji said pouting.

"Hey Ren, the personas and I need to talk to you in your mind." Shadeon said making my one eye glow.

'Okay, just let me tell my friends first.'

"Nope dear, it can't wait." said my persona Picaro Kaguya.

Both my eyes glowed fully as I leaned back in my chair. I awoke in the velvet room, or a copy of it but I wasn't in the prisoner outfit. I saw all my personas and Shadeon.

"Okay, so what is it?" I asked.

"It's about the wings granted to you by the Desires Gamble." Izunagi said. "Those are a gift from Arsene, not Shadeon."

"Huh?" I said. "But Arsene has feathery black wings. Why were they bat like wings?" I asked.

"There's a power deep inside you that has granted you these wings. But will not reveal until the appointed time." Neko Shogun said casually sipping green tea. "Nya...One thing is for certain young warrior, you must be careful about how often you use the desires gamble."

"That fruit is also troublesome." Senta said cleaning his spear. "But as stated by that mysterious young boy, it may come in handy. May your journey also prove fruitful."
