35. Happy Holidays

The next day was friday and the last day before the winter holidays. We could feel it just by walking into school ; there was a Christmas tree in the hall, mistletoe hung up on every door of the classes, a huge "Merry Christmas" banner on a stair's ramp, little holiday decorations here and there, and of course the snow outside, the freezed puddles, and the cold weather. Typical Christmas season, like in a movie.

I opened my locker to take my books and eventually grab a piece of paper and a pen.
'Meet me at the gymnase after lunch'
I folded the piece of paper then closed my bag and my locker. I headed to the locker N°97 and slided my handwritten note in it.
"Maddie here are you !!" Olivia's voice called me.
I quickly turned around to be sure she didn't see me.
"Hey !!" I said, trying to be natural. "So, how did it go yesterday with Diggy ?"
Olivia blushed and smiled. "It went...good"
"Ooooh that means it went really well !!" I teased here. "C'mon, what happened ?"
"I'll tell you during our next sleepover" she winked. "Just know that we are together and I couldn't be happier. Ooh, that rhymes !!" she widened her eyes like she just discovered the world.
I laughed with her until two boys approached us.
"Heeeyyyyy babyyyyy" Diggy said to my best friend, cheeky.
He slapped her butt as he kissed her neck. Olivia giggled as she put an arm around him.
"Hey Maddie" I instantly recognized his deep voice.
"Hey Trevor" I answered, kind of shy.
Olivia sent me a 'what the hell' look as I made her understand I'll explain later. Diggy's arms wrapped around her waist by behind as she put her head on his shoulder. I wish so much that I had a boyfriend. Maybe if I waited until lunch...
"Maddie !" Trevor called me.
"Huh ?"
"Olivia asked you if you did something during vacation"
"Um... No, I'm staying home. Celebrating Christmas with my family..."
"Great, that means we can see eachother !!" Olivia said, looking very excited.
Damn, if being in a relationship made you so happy...
"How 'bout you guys ?" she continued.
"Stayin' home" Trevor nodded.
Diggy sighed. "Going to see my grandparents... I'm spendin' Christmas with 'em."
"Aw, that means we won't see eachother ?" Olivia asked as she got out of his grip and turned around to face him.
Diggy shook his head sadly, holding both of her hands.
"Well at leasr we'll have New Year's Eve... Right ?"
He made a bothered face as he watched the ground.
"We won't sped New Year's Eve together ?"
He rubbed her back, looking frustrated. "Sorry baby..."
"...that's okay... When are you going ?"
"Tomorrow."
Ouch. Poor them. Theb ell rang as they hugged, announcing the end of the pause and the last two hours of the morning.

My knees were moving up and down fastly as I was sat on the seats of the gymnase. I was scared. Not nervous, because I was not scared of what if it will go wrong ; I was scared of being redjected.
The door winced and my name was called.
"Hey Eric" I saluted as I shot up straight from my bench.
"Why did you want to see me ?" he asked, confused as he got closer to me.
"I...I wanted to ask you something."
"Go ahead" he shyly smiled.
"I wanted you to tell me if you'd give me another chance."
He raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth, surprised.
"I swear there's nothing going on between Trevor and I. I just think you're a great guy and I miss being with you."
"...uh...uh, I mean, um..." he stuttered after a few seconds of hesitation. "Maddie, I'd love to be your boyfriend, but... I really do think Trevor and you-"
"We don't, I swear we don't have any feelings towards eachother ! Please believe me."
Eric pinched his lips, torned. "How 'bout I tell you after the holidays ? I ask you if you still do wanna be with me because it just might be on the spur of the moment, and if you do, I'll give you my answer."
I exhaled, realizing I've been holding my breath this whole time. I was relieved.
"Sure. Okay." I nodded.
He kindly smiled. "Merry Christmas Maddie. Happy holidays."
He kissed my cheek and left the gymnase.

 A/N : Okay so hi everyone.
You guys seemed to like the idea of the sequel so how 'bout yes ? ^.^ it will probably happen ;)
On the other side, you guys didn't seem that excited last chapter when Trevor and Maddie made up... I honestly expected a little bit more enthusiast, but whatever... I just hope you guys still like the story, and good news if you do : the next chapter is almost entirely written !! So I will - normally and hopefully- update soon :)
