chapter 4: a challenge

After they docked at Fuyuki port.
Josh and Emerald welcomed Irisviel and Lakshmi-bai. They gave them a tour of their friends' ship selfs. A little while later, they went to a cafè for some afternoon tea.

Irisviel: (confused) is this something that you usually do, commander?

Josh: please call me 'Josh' as it's my name. I'm not a fan of being called commander.

Emerald: same here please.

While they are having some afternoon tea, Josh notices something strange outside near a building nearby. His servant/ friend seemed to notice.

Artoria: is there something wrong, Josh?

Josh: hmm? Oh I was distracted by something. Tis all. (Whispers to Emerald) did you saw a flying girl near that building just a few minutes ago?

Emerald: yea. I think that it was Enterprise.

Josh: Enterprise? I thought that she was back at Azur Lane. (Ponders) strange.

While he was trying to figure out who the mysterious flying girl was. The said mysterious girl found the Azur Lane team in the port

Down at the port.
Akagi saw the strange girl and was asked to introduce herself. At first, she didn't want to and started to tell her off until she had a lance in her face. The wielder, Tirpitz wasn't very happy and demands her to reveal her name before she could poke her with her lance. The strange girl didn't want to be poked by Tirpitz's lance and revealed her name as Ishtar. She asked them where Josh was. This made them look at each other confused.

Tirpitz: strange, I thought that Josh has one servant. Not two.

Akagi: same. (To Ishtar) Josh is currently in the city at the moment, how about you stay for a little bit?

Ishtar: ok.

Meanwhile.
Josh, Emerald and the others are having a walk around the city exploring the place where the grail war would take place. Then Emerald received a transmission from Yorktown.

Yorktown: (radio) Emerald, there's something that you and Josh need to see.

Emerald: Thanks, Yorktown. Can you se- (a beep was heard in her helmet) thanks.

She plays the footage from a manor while Josh was sitting on the sand barrier as Irisviel was in the water. Artoria takes a seat next to him on the sand barrier.

Emerald: Josh. You have to see this.

(Imagine that the video is a hologram footage)

After watching the footage, Josh was suspicious of what happened and came up with a theory of the Assassin was a personality of an other. The more he think, Josh suddenly realised something.

Josh: (to Artoria) question.

Artoria: what's up?

Josh: doesn't a servant usually have one noble phantasm?

Artoria: according to the rules. Why?

Josh asked Emerald to show Artoria the footage from Yorktown and was little concerned about the archer servant that eliminate a Assassin familiar. Then Lakshmi-bai approached the trio as Artoria sensed a servant's presence.

Josh: Servant?

Artoria: yes. Apparently, they're giving out an invitation aura.

Josh: (picks up his helmet) want to check it out?

Artoria: (smiles) of course.

After he puts his helmet on, Josh made a call to his friend and asks for a favour from her. He also contacted Akagi and Tirpitz to let them know about his favour. They head to the warehouse district and found out that the servant wielding two lances. Emerald activates her scanner on her helmet and finds that the opponent's noble phantasm can cancel out Artoria's main noble phantasm while Atalante had found a good place to overlook the battlefield. She warned Josh about it and allowed Lakshmi-bai to fight Lancer.

Meanwhile.
Tirpitz was searching for Ishtar and found out that she was on her way to the warehouse district to meet up with Josh.
