Emily (Cage) P.O.V.
"Okay, Dani, this is our chance!"
"I know Em, you've been talking non-stop about this ever since our last day of middle school!"
"Shut up, we'll do fine."
"Okay, let's kill these bitxhes"
We walked out of the locker room and revealed to us were girls warming up, but the entire boys team watching.
"Oh sh*t" We said at the same time. We went along with it ignoring the wolf whistles and ignorant banter. I wanted to flip 'em off or something but that could get me kicked out of try-outs. We were lining up for kicks and goalie try-outs, everyone would kick at one person then switch. We had about 30 people try-out and I only made about 10 goals. I did horrible, I needed to show my skills in the net.
I stepped in, taking deep breaths. One shot, block, two shots, blocked. It was down to two girls and I had blocked every single shot. One girl shot up, I tipped it over, blocked. The last girl was tough. She had kicked too hard twice and girls had to go to the nurse. Oh god.
She kicked it, it came straight for me, it was meant for me, blocked. She looked p*ssed, but I didn't care, not a single shot went in. I was made for goalie. I looked at the coaches, they seemed happy and I knew I earned my spot on the team. I looked over at the boys and saw some amazed but I could here some rude remarks. "She got lucky!" "Never could happen again!" I felt a little bad, but my mouth went on showing my emotions.
"Hey guys! I'm not deaf, and if you think that was luck, how about you come try and make a shot on me!?" They all looked at each other and laughed. One kid stood up and said, "Let's go!" It was my cousin. That bitxh.
They did it though. They all lined up cocky af but none of them made it and one kid was left. Nathan. Oh god, I had a crush on him for years. No, stop it em. Head in the game. He kicked it to my left. Sh*t, my bad side. I shuffled over and tipped it out. Yes. I showed them. They all just stood in a little bunch , hanging there heads like little losers.
"Emily, over here now!" Coach Melissa yelled.
"Yes Coach?"
"What was that? You interrupted our try-outs so you could show them up!"
"Yes. I'm sor-"
"I'm sorry, but if you did that now, I can't imagine your behavior on the field. You will not be joining the girls team this year!"
"But!"
"No, my decision is final." I looked over at Dani. She was separated with what looks like a team. She made it. My stupid little mistake. F*CK.
"Alright girls, that ends try-outs, sorry if you didn't make it" she glared at me, "but we hope to see you at try-outs next year,"
I stomped off the field. One mistake and I don't make it. I was the best goalie there. I'll try and talk to her tomorrow.
