I was about to walk into Coach Melissa office. I needed to apologize and get my spot. I knocked.
"Come in."
Here it goes. "Hi coach! Could I talk to you about something?"
"Sure go ahead."
"It's about the team. I blocked every shot yesterday, and I have strong passes and can work the ball. I need to work on shooting but as a goalie that wouldn't matter. I am sorry for what I did yesterday and I know that was wrong, but I have played since I was little and I love this sport. Do you think there is a spot for me on the team."
We sat there for a couple minutes. She was thinking of an answer.
"Two games. Prove yourself. One goal in and you're done!"
"You got it coach, I won't let you down."
"You'll need a number for your jersey."
"Double zero!"
I walked out of there like a boss *ss b*tch and ran to Dani. She was bummed that we both didn't make it but once I told her the news we hugged and life felt normal.
~Later that day~
We were in 6th period now, my only class without Dani. She confused me. She loved sports but didn't take P.E. I was fine with it though. Our gym teacher was the boys soccer coach. We were running sprints on the field when he called me over.
"Emily right?"
"Yes."
"I'm Coach Eli."
"Hello!"
"I went to get my boys for practice but it seemed like they already started. They were shooting you yesterday correct?"
"Yes sir!"
"I know you didn't have much luck on the girls team but I would like to offer you a spot on the boys team."
"Really!?" I was shocked.
"Yes, we have practice today after school. If you come that's a yes?"
"I'll be there!"
"Great, now catch up you missed two sprints."
Like I cared about sprints, I'm on the boys team. Wait, JV or Varsity?
