Not everyone gets happy endings. And Liv she knew that. Back in 1864 Liv and Damon never got their happy ending, they both died in the end. And when she finally saw him all alive and well she thought that maybe they had got a second chance, but all hope was stepped on when she saw Damon leave with Elena. 

It's been almost a whole month since she saw Damon and since the minute Stefan promised to help her get Damon's memory back they both looked through all the witch books in the Boarding House but found absolutely nothing.

She had been introduced to Caroline and Bonnie, close friends of Damon and Stefan, and both of them had agreed to help her. Although Bonnie was kind of hesitant at first cause she was happy for Elena and Damon but when she learned of the tragic love story her heart gave in.

"A month Stef, it's been a month and we have not found anything at his point I'll just give up and let Elena and Damon be happy." She slammed the book shut and walked out of the room only to be stopped by Stefan vamping in front of her and saying what he always said whenever Liv felt bad that she was destroying the relationship between Elena and Damon just so she could get a happy ending.

"Listen Liv, I am happy for my brother I really am, but you haven't been here as long as all of us to know that what Damon and Elena have, it's toxic. But on the other hand, what you and Damon had was pure love. And honestly, you look better with my brother."

Liv cracked a smile at this but before she could say anything Bonnie walked through the front door with Caroline carrying an unconscious Damon. Liv frowned at them in confusion before saying, "Uh...what's all this? We-"

"I actually found a spell. A very very old one and I have never heard of it so I don't know how well it's going to work but nothing wrong in trying." Bonnie spoke as Caroline dumped Damon on the couch.

"What about Elena? Where is she? We should really ask her about this first."

"Liv oh my god Liv. Just let's focus on getting this man's memory back and then everything else." Stefan said again kissing the top of her head and holding her close to him.

Bonnie stood at Damon's unconscious head and then started chanting, something in some language that none of the three vampires knew. The fire on the candles increased burning bigger and brighter, the wind rushed through several windows, and then it all stopped. 

Bonnie stopped chanting and was quiet for a few minutes before opening her eyes and saying done before she dragged a confused Caroline out of the house saying she had to go to college. Liv and Stefan looked at each other and then at the sleeping Damon before Stefan said "Let's go make some coffee. Okay?"

Liv. Her name slipped from his lips, effortlessly and it made him smile. Her hair her long beautiful her, her hazel eyes that glittered in the sun on the morning they after breakfast together. She giggling and running away from him through the forest after teasing him. Her soft lips when she kissed him. And then...

Augustine.

Fuck. Damon woke with a start. Oh no no no no, he couldn't have gone all those years without remembering her and in that last memory. The last memory he had changed of them so he could say goodbye, he had promised. Promised.
