I don't want to be that guy that ask if we're there yet, but I nearly did. We were battered by the time we made it to the biggest tree I ever seen. Hungry, tired, and sweaty, kinda. Grass pokemon don't sweat like humans do. some of us just secrete a watery sap. Like Sid did when I stared at him earlier today. At least the ground is completely dry now.
Are we sure that this Oranguru guy isn't just sleeping at this hour? -Not during the three moon nights- Three moon nights? -Yes for three nights, the moon is full, Today is the third day so we're cutting it close. He should be meditating under the moon light- This is why you were rushing things? So where is he? Is he under the tree roots? There appears to be an opening there.
-Actually, he seldom climbs down here except to gather ingredients, and he has been seen using the cover of darkness under to roots to shelter weary pokemon that can't climb the rope. Look up Alex, there is a vine leading straight into the canopy.- I did as he said, and sure enough, there was a rope made of vines leading to the top of the tree.
I guess that is a smart way to avoid trainers, and it's not like the bird pokemon will try to eat him. I was half expecting us to enter a cave and find him just sitting there on a bed of leaves, expecting our arrival. -There are caves around here, but trainers walk through those caves too often to put a secret base there. Even if you can dig a secret tunnel, you might still get caught. We better not keep him waiting, let's climb.- Can you wait a minute, I don't think my bruises have eased up since this morning.
All that work, and you were the one that ended up goofing the mission. Why didn't you train "your" balance?! -Hey, my feet are not the same shape as yours. I figured I had the better footing, and didn't need to train. Plus, I did find the Passimian camp after all. I wasn't just watching you fall on your butt the whole time, as funny as it was. It got pretty old after the fiftieth time.-
Rather then tell him he basically did nothing for half the time I was training, I decided to climb up while he was still rambling. -Hey, don't leave without me, that Noctowl has been looking at me funny.- Can you whisper any louder, I think the whole forest can hear you. - It's called a jungle and...and- What is it now? -I can..uhhh, never mind, I'll just look away.- Wait, are you looking at my...Don't make me kick you off the vine, we're almost to the top, just hurry up. Yes, I know it's weird that we both can climb up a vine without fingers, but that was surprisingly the easy part. The hard part was pulling up my bottom heavy self up a tree the size of three houses stacked on top of each other when your under four feet tall!
How...gasp...the he#&..gasp..did you get up here...gasp...as an Oddish Sid? - I...had help. I'll tell you some other time...wheeze. Wouldn't want you upset when we're so...gasp...high up. My arms feel like they're about to fall off. I can see a soft blue light above. We're...almost...there!
We make it to the canopy, and I must say, I was not fully expecting to see a bamboo and dry grass roofed hut on top of a tree. It was hidden by the leaves, and you never would have spotted it from the ground, no matter how tall you were. After blowing on my hands to ease the redness we entered. Inside was an assortment of weaved baskets, shelves, bowls with utensils, and a window facing the moon in the back, the source of the blue light. In the center was a comfy looking bed of leaves, with a huge ape like pokemon sitting on it while facing the window. {Come in, come in. make yourselves at home.} I was shocked to know that we got caught so easily. How did he know we came in?
-Maybe we weren't whispering low enough, then again you always seemed to know more then you let on, don't you Master Guru? {Fufufufufu, Well it certainly helps to be part psychic type, now doesn't it, now to what do I owe the pleasure this time Sid.} -If you are psychic, and remember what our last interaction was like, then you know why WE are here.- {Indeed...You have been on quite the adventure since I last saw you. No hard feelings about last time, but many outside pokemon have entered to jungle, only to cause heartache for the natives here. Some, were even being used by their trainers to lure rare pokemon closer, and I had to be sure that you could be trusted. I told you some of that before. Had you brought that Steenee here under false pretentions, and not out of true friendship... I'm afraid I could not be obliged to help you.}
