Part 38: GETTING CLOSER

stan's face turned pale after that phone call. he couldn't hold to that phone tighter. he was totally tensed up, that was obvious. drake was quick to figure out that something was wrong. he patiently waited for him to tally out his feeling right away. after he hung up the phone he sat on the floor closing his eyes tighter revising  things out all over again. 

on the meanwhile , drake pulled out all the files that he thought would help. he threw them into the jeep loading himself in as well he locked the door behind him. after getting himself comfortable he honked as hard as he could to wake his stressed friend. stan came out with an angry face ,literally looking red in colour. 

he swung the door behind so hard that it bounced back and forth . he walked inside the jeep and placed himself softly on the seat next to drake .he did this like someone told him to be soft in front of drake . drake pulled the seat belt and clipped it in while stan sat there giving a blank stare through the windscreen. drake wanted to know what is happening? and why is he stun after the call?

he clicked stan in as well ,after doing that he lifted stan's face by his hands . only then he saw stan's colour turn pale from red. drake's face went down as well as he was shocked. stan got all tensed up and started,

"I FAILED DRAKE."

"WHAT-T DO YOU MEAN?"

"I-I MEAN...(starts crying louder)I FAILED DRAKE...I COULDN'T CRACK THIS CASE. I WILL BE CONVICTED OF ALL THE CRIMES"

"HEY ...WH-WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" 

"THAT DAY OF ACCIDENT REMEMBER?!"

"YES!?!"

"THE CAR ROLLED DOWN INTO THE TRENCH. RIGHT?! ONLY AFTER THAT WE HAVE BEEN CARRIED TO THE HOSPITAL. "

"YES MAN ,COME TO THE POINT!"

"THEY EXAMINED THE CAR AS USUAL AND IN THE BOOT THEY FOUND ..."

"THEY FOUND?!?!"

"A BODY AND IT HAS MY HAND PRINTS ALL OVER IT"

"YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME. YOU WERE WITH ME ALL THE TIME! HOW SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED?!"

"BEFORE THAT.WHY DID YOU PULLED A SUDDEN BRAKE?"

"I-I SAW SOMEONE IN THE STREET. HE WAS IN THE WAY. NOT WANTING TO HIT HIM,I APPLIED A SUDDEN BRAKE."

"SO...IT'S A 'HIM'"

"I THINK SO?!"

 "IF YOU 'STILL' BELIEVE ME, THEN THIS IS WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!"

{the car went down the trench because you applied a sudden brake on the curve; which is because you saw a 'MAN' . if i am right; after that we both got knocked out. you ,a bit later. in the mean while that man should have dragged the body from the fields nearby. as that is the only place to hide the body safely .and when we consider the surroundings, i saw no civilians for quite a large radius ,that is why we took this  road on the first hand. has it rained lately?}

"NO! DAMN IT" 

"THEN YOU KNOW WHERE TO GO!"

They both drove to the road they tripped and fell. those tire marks were still there; so should the foot marks. drake smirked on seeing something as he went towards the field. he yelled for stan. and when stan walked in. he saw some foot marks. drake started,

"COULD BE A GENIUS BUT NOT THAT MUCH!?"

"HE DID DRAG THE BODY .SEE?!"

"YEP MATE ; THE PRINTS ARE ALL OVER HERE. THIS IS ENOUGH TO SHUT THE POLICE  FOR A WHILE. I  BETTER START TAKING PICTURES. IT'S ABOUT TO RAIN."

" OK"

suddenly out of no where....
