Iris was a young girl. Iris was angry at the way people were and hating her for her strange obsessions of the Underground. She had been in families, but none of them treated her right. They taught her a lot. People told the story of monsters and humans living together. People said that one day, the monster and humans fought and the monster had lost their freedom to be in the Overworld. They were chased out. They got locked in the Underground, a realm where monsters were banished after war broke out with humans. The Underground is sealed from the surface by a magic barrier with a singular gap at Mount Ebott. Iris listened to the story over and over. One day, she decided to go to Mount Ebott and see if it was true. She had trouble getting up the mountain without help. Imagine looking through foggy lenses and not seeing danger until the last second. Glasses never helped her, so she just had to trust her other senses. She felt around until she felt the opening of a cave. She walked forward until she suddenly fell! She fell for a good distance. She felt a tree branch scrape across her face. She felt the pain and cried in pain. She harshly hit the ground and it hurt her a lot. Iris laid, motionless, in the little field of yellow buttercups, until the pain went away. She sat up and felt her face. She winced when she felt her cold hand and touched where the branch had injured her. There was a 10" scrape on her left eye. She couldn't see anything out of her left eye now. She gained a bit of determination and courage to stand up. She wandered until she came to a wall. She pressed herself against the wall and used it as a guide. She heard voices, but they sounded far. She followed the sound of these mysterious voices. They got louder and louder. She now could distinguish the voices. The noise of all the voices made her a bit anxious and sick. She heard three male voices and two females. She also smelt cigarette smoke, which made her cough. Two of the males and one of the females stopped talking to see if her coughing could be heard again. Iris covered her mouth until the voices resumed. She walked forward and stepped on a twig. Now, all the voices had stopped. She felt herself quickly move and she thought saw someone in a lab coat in front of her. She was frightened and backed away. She then backed up into a goat. She clung to the goat's leg. She started to shake and tremble, not knowing what to do. A second wave of nervousness and sickness overcame her.
One of the goats asked Iris, his deep voice calm and gentle. "Sweetie, can you tell us your name or how you got here?"
Iris started to shake even more. "M-my name is Ir-Iris Ivy. I fell do-down the hole that hu-humans talk about," she quietly spoke.
The goat she had attached herself to spoke, "Iris, that's a beautiful name. Can you look at me?"
Iris looked up and saw the rough details of the goat's face. She had a gentle smile and bright red eyes. Iris also thought she saw two small horns on her head. Iris smiled a bit, but the goat look scared and worried.
The goat bent down and softly touched Iris's face. She asked, "My child, you have a big scratch on your eye. Are you alright?"
Iris flinched. "I'm fi-fine. A tree br-branch just scraped m-my face," Iris explained.
"We should get her bandaged up," The goat next to her said.
"Queen Toriel and King Asgore, we need to return to the subject at hand. Can't she go play with Asriel and Chara?" The skeleton asked with a rough tone.
"Gaster, let her stay. She seems...different. Maybe playing with Chara and Asriel is not the best idea," The male goat said. He turned to Iris and kneeled. "How would you like for me to pick you up? I will be gentle."
Iris nodded and let go of Toriel's leg. Asgore carefully and gently picked her up. Asgore smiled softly. Iris could feel his fur. It was soft, but also rough. The texture felt odd, but she smiled back.
"Can we not get distracted, King and Queen?" Gaster roughly said.
"Sorry, continue," Asgore said, trying not to be loud.
