Chapter Nine
you're so beautiful

Jane looked at herself in the mirror. her dress reached just above her knees.

It was a pretty black, silky dress. It cut in a V down her back with black lace around the hems.

The front of the dress was something Jane was confident about. It did the same as the back, except it held more volume, the lace touched her skin delicately as the straps held her shoulders into place.

This dress definitely suited Jane.

It was beyond what words can describe.

Jane looked at herself one last time

Her hair was curled, half of it up in a bun with a black rose clip holding it all in place, two pieces of her bangs fell on each side of her face, defining it perfectly.

Her makeup was elegant and her bright red lipstick was something that brought the entire outfit together.

Jane glanced behind her to see Max in a long sage green dress, the hem of hers had flowers and the front had jewels. Her hair was slicked back into a tight pony tail, her makeup was fairly like and she wore green laced gloves

The red head caught her stare

"We look fucking hot" Max said, making Jane burst out in laughter. Jane was happy she was going to this, she knew she would have fun, Dustin was going as well, Will didn't want to, only because he didn't feel like it.

"We look amazing. God, these dresses were perfect" Jane gasped as she twirled around in it. Joyce stood in awe at the girls as she was leaned against their door frame

"You two look absolutely beautiful" Joyce said as she put her hands up to her face. They were growing up too quickly.

"Thanks ma" Jane smiled as Joyce felt her heart melt even more. Jane was getting used to the whole new beginnings & she had a new title for Joyce and they both enjoyed it.

"Thank you Mrs Hopper" Max said as her eyes caught the car pulling up in the drive way

"They're here!" Max squealed as she grabbed Jane's hand, pulling her to the living room.

"How do we look?" Jane asked her dad as he stood there, totally baffled at his daughter

"Don't you want some leggings..or- or some long sleeve?" Hopper joked as Jane rolled her eyes

"It's a dance dad not a family reunion" Jane spoke as Hopper nodded

"I know I know, you look good buggy" Hop said as Jane looked up at her father.

Buggy it was the nickname he and Jane's biological mother gave her as a child.

"Thank you dad" Jane softly thanked him as Max opened the door. Immediately jumping into Lucas's arms

"Holy shit you look good" Jane overheard Lucas compliment Max. Dustin came into sight.

A suit and tie, and his curls terrifically tamed. Jane couldn't help but smile

"Damn Henderson, you could be cute if you tried" Jane wiped a few crumbs off his shoulder and she fixed his tie

"Thank you Milady" Dustin smiled as Jane blushed slightly.

"We should get going, the Dance starts in 20" Lucas said as Jane nodded.

"Be back by 2 and no drinking or drugs got it" Hopper pointed at the kids as they each nodded.

Lies.

They definitely weren't gonna be good kids tonight.
